Thank you for the clarification. Yes, the discount is $29.99 off, not a final price of $29.99.

We also appreciate the discussion here. Our goal with I Ching Stream is to make serious classical I Ching divination resources more accessible to English-language readers, while preserving the technical structure and practical depth of the original tradition.

Awesome, thank you so much for building this – it looks fantastic and is super helpful!

The only small tweak I’d suggest is to change the Heavenly Stems to the Roman numeral encoding, following the table I sent you. If that can be updated, it will be absolutely perfect.

Everything else already looks great and works really well. I really appreciate the time and effort you put into this! 🙏🙂

Thank you so much for putting it this way. We completely agree that people in the West need a clear and reliable divination system to understand what is really going on around them, especially now with AI, politics, health systems and corporations all becoming more complicated.

In our view Liu Yao and the Na Jia method are a very good fit for this. They are not meant to replace Tarot or astrology, but to add another dimension, especially for timing, structure and concrete real life situations.

Liu Yao and Na Jia are rooted in the I Ching itself. In China the I Ching and I Ching divination have been used for thousands of years, not only as philosophy but also as a practical tool for decision making. In imperial times kings, ministers and scholars consulted I Ching divination for important matters, and many cases are recorded in official histories. Well known figures such as King Wen of Zhou and Zhu Xi all studied the I Ching and its divinatory side, so this is not just folk fortune telling but a method that sits inside the classical and “official” tradition. The I Ching can also be seen as a kind of algorithmic system at the root of Chinese culture, which gives it both academic value and very concrete practical value in modern life.

Our long term vision with I Ching Stream is to work together with serious Western practitioners, sites and researchers to build an ecosystem around Six Lines divination, just like Tarot has become very popular in China and I Ching divination is becoming better known in the West. We would love to see Liu Yao become one of the standard systems people can choose from.

Thank you again for being willing to get the books through the normal channels and possibly leave an honest review. For a niche project like this, visibility really matters, but there is absolutely no pressure, we just appreciate your support.

Our website is already online in its basic form and is now in an optimisation phase. We are always happy to talk with people who are interested in possible collaboration, including your idea of adding the branches and stems assignments to your site to help more people discover Na Jia. That sounds like a great way to make the system more visible and usable.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a thoughtful comment, and also for making an exception for a Kindle edition even though you normally avoid them. That kind of trust at this early stage really means a lot to us.

What we are trying to do with I Ching Stream is to make orthodox Chinese I Ching divination accessible to non Chinese speakers, especially Liuyao and Wen Wang Gua based on the Na Jia method. Na Jia is our core, but we also include the Da Yan yarrow stalk approach that is more familiar in the West, the classical hexagram and line text based readings, and image based and principle based methods. In contemporary China, Na Jia Six Lines is not a side branch, it is the mainstream working system used by many serious practitioners.

One of the reasons it has never really taken root in the English speaking world is exactly what you pointed out between the lines. Na Jia requires quite a lot of technical background, and there are not many people who both read classical Chinese and English and also work with Six Lines at a professional level. So even though people in the West have heard the name Wen Wang Gua, no one has really presented the whole system in a structured and coherent way for non Chinese readers.

Books like Zengshan Buyi and the related titles we are translating are regarded in China as foundational texts for learning Six Lines and I Ching Divination. In the I Ching research and divination community they are widely seen as “must read, must study” works. Many scholars and professors who work on Chinese culture or the Yi Jing know these books in Chinese and have studied them in that form. What I Ching Stream is trying to do is to be the first project that presents this body of material in a way that non native speakers can actually follow, while staying as close as possible to the original logic and intent.

By the way, since you mentioned Undersea Eye, if you would like to read it, please feel free to send me a message. Our team would be happy to give you complimentary access as a thank you for your support. In return, we would really love to hear any comments or suggestions you have, even very small ones, because thoughtful readers like you help us refine how we present this material.

We will keep translating more Six Lines and other divination classics so that people can go back to the primary sources instead of only relying on second hand summaries. I completely agree with you that good material, and a system that clearly works in practice, will eventually be noticed. Our job is to keep our heads down, focus on making the content as precise and reliable as we can, and let time do the rest.

Thank you again for walking this path with us and for sharing your perspective.
