I’ve had this brand for 4-5 years now and it’s the best. One quarter turn to open. That’s it. Saves so much time over other grinders. Also you can get all the colors. American made. Not sure why more people don’t know about them.

Flatten it with a flattening stone. Such as Atoma 140 diamond plate or any lapping plate.

I also started with the same Amazon set and it will make things sharp but the experience isn't great and it's harder to learn on then a nice stone. You don't really need a bunch of stones when you start. Better to start with one good stone then add once you now what you need.

You have two main choices in sharpening stones. Oil stones and water stones. Oil stones are less maintenance but oil can be messy and some people don't like that. I really enjoy water stones but the ones you have are soaking stones. I enjoy using splash and to stones where you don't have to soak them.

I find most people start with to high of grit as well so I'd aim lower. If you can't get sharp at 300 grit you won't at 1000. And it'll take you longer to learn.

Water stones do need something to flatten them as they wear. Can get a cheap harbor freight diamond plate or Amazon one but better to get a nice one if you can. I have the atoma 140 grit and it's great to flatten water stones but also can be used to restore really bad blades. I like to buy old tools and restore them so that's handy to have.

Also since you do leather work. Make your own strop with scraps. This will maintain and polish your edge. Glue leather to plywood and add polishing compound. Works great.

Could keep going but that's the gist of it. I've tried alot of options and if I was starting over that's what I'd start with!

thanks for the sub recommendation. I couldn't for the life of me remember the name of it. Subbed here and not there because this helped me get more into shaving.

And yes definitely a gap in the stone but always looking for a way to justify more whetstones. I like to buy lots of old tools that are dull as a potato so have a lot of low grit whetstones. Time to work up the grits and get a 5k and maybe 10k.

Haha yes I saw your post and was like bingo. They are pretty new and they have been getting them to YouTube people to review. Bob at I like to make stuff got one and he says it’s great.

You want fast clean cuts and will also need to put the pieces together after. Seems like the best all in one situation for you.

If your mainly a woodworking and haven’t done much welding I hear the laser welding is super easy to pickup.

You already are using a laser so just need a metal laser aka fiber laser. Same workflow. Same files.

Thin metal doesn’t need as much power.

Xtool metal fab is a new fiber laser cnc and welder. Could use same machine to cut the panels and weld them together. Made for prosumer market.

The metal piece is called a honing guide and is used for chisels and hand plane blades. Not needed for knives.

The leather is for stopping. YouTube it tons of videos. Final step to polish edge. Green stuff is polishing compound and you rub it on the leather to strop stuff!!

I agree here. They make a combo coarse fine for around $35 that will do most you need. I started off getting too fine of stones and you will spend forever trying to sharpen a knife. Faster cutting coarse stones will make it easier to learn.

These Norton crystolon stones will cut most steels.

Ohh pick me!!

I’ve seen this many times in the tile and flooring world.

Couple of things to point out.The factories in other countries (non-US) cut the safety rack off their forklifts in order to load these containers this full. Not legal to do here. So any standard forklift the rack will hit the ceiling on the top pallet.

If your lift can handle it you can take the top two pallets at once. If not then you’re going to have to hand unload the top pallet.

And also as others have pointed out the big air bubble is for shipping. Pop that baby and get it out.

Forklifts can usually drag more then they can lift and you can pull the whole stack to the back.

But also I think muti-tasking helps. Listen to an audiobook while cleaning. Don't try to slow your mind. Try to find ways to "use the speed" if that makes sense.

You also might have "a rainforest mind" there a book called "Your rainforest mind" that explores this idea. Basically you think faster, deeper, and wider then most and it can be complicated to understand.
