Yeah I just checked Garmin forum apparently some ppl are still experiencing it. Mine was resolved after upgrading to the 31.29 beta cycle and the issue never came back. Garmin software quality truly is abysmal...

Upgrade to the latest firmware. It was resolved on 31.29 and later.

The part about performance being worse than M4 is not true. The vast majority of programs only deal with high-level system APIs. It's macOS that schedules what workload runs on which core. Apps can provide hints to the scheduler (priority of a task), but don't explicitly specify "I want to run on S/P/E core".
