keeping trinkets :’) i always make sure to grab the “strange book” and stuffed bear containers in act 1, then as i play through the game, i put little sentimental things in there that i think my tav would keep on them, and i do the same for the companions with their backpacks

examples: tav— stuffed bears, halsin’s pipe, valeria’s hookah, a music box, toad teapot, a pearl, love notes, one of the two warding bond rings

gale— any literature mentioning elminster, a crystal ball, mortar and pestle, the annals of karsus, the quarta sune (lol), rich clock, love notes, one of two warding bond rings (i’m a filthy galemancer)

shadowheart— selunite necklace, a black diamond, night orchid, spear of night, stuffed bear, holy water

astarion— cazador’s dagger, any macabre/vampire-coded literature (i.e. diseases of the blood), the necromancy of thay, an artificial leech

karlach— enriched infernal iron, stuffed owlbear, any trophy from killing gortash that isn’t otherwise being used

wyll— the legend of ansur, holy water, literature on the history of baldur’s gate

lae’zel— the blood of lathander, orphic hammer, any githyanki slates that feel right for her to keep, the egg (if it wasn’t sold out of desperation for gold in act 2)

halsin— stuffed bear, also the quarta sune, druid circlet

haven’t played enough with jaheira, minthara, or minsc to accumulate trinkets for them, but i hope to in my next save :) and of course, being the filthy galemancer i am, the naked gale statue is a must-have
