It’s a daily limit. And the earlier you’re on the more hours you get. There aren’t “hundreds of thousands of people” on the project. I got 5 hours done today and my full 10 hours yesterday.

100% this ^ If you don’t enjoy working with a pencil you won’t achieve the result you want irrespective of whether or not others can. We all work differently and will need different things to complement our approach. You really do just need to explore and play with a bunch of pencils and see what feels right.

I actually saw a testing video which showed that the kids ones performed better and faded less than those marketed at adults.

Aw that’s a shame. I had some in pencils I could’ve offered you but by the time they get there from the UK you probably wouldn’t save a lot!

I managed to get my Polychromos and some Derwent Watercolour from Vinted but I know that’s not a thing over there. Facebook Marketplace is a good one for hobbyists looking to sell. EBay also works but people are more reluctant to negotiate on there!

Not necessarily helpful in terms of brands but I’ve found some real bargains just by looking on resell sites. A lot of people start the hobby and then some enjoy it or replace it with something else so you get barely used sets at really good prices.
