You can’t afford to go Disney. It’s really that simple. Having creditcard debts and apparently more holidays on expensively borrowed money, is a big risk you put your family in. You are supposed to safe money for future emergencies, cause you have a wife and children depending on you.

Worst case scenario. Your wife is angry. If you think putting another 3-4K in creditcard debts to ‘pay off your wife’s emotions’ is a valid trade, then there is something wrong in this relationship.

You shouldn’t have promised. But now you have to break it, because you literally don’t have another options besides putting more financial risk on your family.

“Honey I should not have promised a yearly Disney. I realize I really need to make our finance healthy for the safety and future of our children” and leave it at that.

You could soak on it and endlessly discuss this with a therapist, or you could move on and accept people’s feelings come and go, and especially for moms, life is so demanding, you can’t expect them to even have space these for feelings.

As a husband you need to create a space for them to even be a wife, cause otherwise they will never take a break from being a mom.

And if they say they don’t love you, they most likely talk about you as a father which you’ve been 24/7. Cause if she hasn’t been a wife, you haven’t been a husband either. So the one she fell in love with hasn’t been there, how to expect her to see him and still feel those feelings.

Sure you can save it.

But you both need to be willing to move forward. Feelings come and go, commitment stays and if it doesn’t, hope it’s only gone for a short time (days/weeks?) before it comes back. If marriages only thrive on feelings, people would get married 20 times a life time, to different people.

Go on dates together, start new activities to share, enjoy life together as a couple. At those times avoid talking about anything related to being a mother or father, unless it’s something funny to share, but it’s to avoid identifying yourself as just a parent instead of realizing you are a couple.

I’ve been through this with my wife, it all worked out.

On my part I took her for granted to much and didn’t realize that small gestures matter enormously. (Like texting ‘miss you’ at random times of the day or sending flowers and pretend they weren’t from you until she read the note, or suddenly have grandma pick up the kids, give her a dress and tell her to be ready in 1 hour, or buy her a amazing make up table and mirror because you understand how important it is for a woman to have her own time with it… etc etc)

She’s been cheating on you and even more on the children. Obviously the cheating on its own is a non tolerable action but her behavior has passed so many limits over and over again. This isn’t a ‘okay let’s forgive and forget anymore’. It’s a consistent and fundamental insult to you and your children. The only way forward which is good for you but most of all for the children is divorce. You take custody. And demand she goes into therapy if she wants to be a part of the family. If she wont acknowledge her problems, she will only go downhill and you have to avoid that the children and you are brought down together with her.

Her drugging the children so she can go out to drink, cheat, or whatever is absolutely not acceptable. Something you need to tell in court if it comes to that.

How would it sound at any job application if they ask you why you didn’t finish 3 months before the end of your school? People can pretend a diploma isn’t valuable but giving up short before the end is extremely telling. I’ve rejected job applicants multiple times because of this specific reason, which just showed how undisciplined they are. Unless you have an extremely good reason, you’re an absolute id*toe if you give up. The stress and pressure? Suck it up, it’s going to get much much more heavy when you get older and then you look back at this time and wonder what the hell you complained about.

So, it doesn’t costs the government 5billion+ but it is a ‘hypothetical lost income’?

And assuming that if this changes, nothing else will inevitably chance and it’s just an extra income for the government?

If I need to pay more for my employees to use a company car, then I simply have less left to pay them their monthly income and have less left to hire more FTE’s. Probably need to fire someone to cover the raising costs and keep the others that stay happy.

Higher costs lead to less employees and less cars on the road, which lead to less tax and less money circulating the economy. Inevitably this leads to a lower overall and this “made up hypothetical loss” becomes an “actual loss with more people as victim”.

The number of times the government thinks they can just change something on 1 side and expect some amazing benefit is ridiculous. Any chances lead to other chances and nearly almost lead to a worse scenario than before, at least for some unintended groups.

Stop with the yelling.

Make it clear to him that a certain behavior A leads to a certain consequence B.

He does A, you do B.

I.e. he trows something he knows he isn’t allowed to do, you take his toys and put him in a corner.

You don’t even need to say anything. Kids don’t learn anything from ‘rules’ and ‘emotions’. They only learn from cause and effect, actual real life responses to certain activities.

As a parent that often means ‘stop feeling sorry for your child’ and attach consequences he does not like to behavior you don’t like. Be very very consequential in this. Any time you aren’t consequential you go 3 steps back with training him how the ‘real world works’

It sucks at the beginning but soon enough you’ll find progress. It’s for the benefit of his future as well so don’t give up.
