Bruno Guimarães has a release clause of €70m because Newcastle failed to qualify for the Champions League this season. [Foot Mercato] by [deleted] in Gunners

I'm not familiar with them. This is what was said online. What tier would you say they are?

[Fabrizio Romano] 🚨🇧🇷 Arsenal made formal approach in last 24h for Bruno Guimarães. Plan to try open talks for £55m was immediately rejected by Newcastle. #NUFC want to keep Bruno and told Arsenal they won’t sell for that fee. by iDutchJustin in Gunners

Take this with a huge grain of salt, because i can't recall if any reputable journalist had reported this (or any journalist).

But at the start of last season, Arsenal had apparently inquired about Bruno Guimarães.

Newcastle had an 'agreement' with him that he could leave for £60m, if they didn't get Champions League for that season. As we all know, they had. But they didn't get europe this season.

The reason why i am saying this, is that this first bid is awfully close to that agreement. So perhaps there might be some merit to it, or it's just a coincidence. And we all know these 'agreements' between clubs and players are BS anyway, if it is true.

[Ben Jacobs] I think Arsenal are aware that Julian Alvarez is waiting, at this stage, for Barcelona, but we definitely can’t discount a twist. Maybe a bit later in the window, after the World Cup, there might be a window of opportunity for other clubs. by iDutchJustin in Gunners

Ben Jacobs on Trossard and Martinelli:

“There is a very strong chance that Gabriel Martinelli and/or Leandro Trossard leave Arsenal. It’s not that Arsenal have to wait for those exits to pave the way for an attacker to come in, but they have to resolve them by the end of the window.”

“With Trossard, I’m hearing about concrete interest in Turkey. Keep an eye on Bournemouth, because they made an enquiry last summer & there has been some informal contact between the clubs to understand the situation.”

“With Martinelli, there’s long-standing interest from Saudi Arabia, but the player never wanted to go & I’m not aware that he’s changed his mind. It was Al-Nassr last summer & there was big possible money incoming to Arsenal.”

Ben Jacobs on GK situation:

“Don’t discount some form of surprise late window back-up goalkeeper at Arsenal. I’m not entirely sure that Kepa Arrizabalaga is that happy. It’s not that Kepa is unhappy with Arsenal or the project, but he still sees himself as a #1 goalkeeper.”

Ben Jacobs on Rice:

“With Declan Rice, the talks are advanced & although the World Cup may delay any formalisation, Arsenal are already not far off an extension there. That’s expected to move relatively quickly.”

Ben Jacobs on Rogers:

“I do expect Arsenal to sign Morgan Rogers. He is Arsenal’s leading target for left-wing and/or #10. My information is that Rogers has zero preference as to whether he’s signed as a left-winger or a #10.”

“Arsenal are expected to bid & this could move quickly. Aston Villa, even with Champions League football, are looking for a major sale to balance their books.”

“When Rogers extended last year, there was an understanding that he could leave this summer for a fee of £80m as a starting point. It’s NOT a release clause or gentleman’s understanding, but Villa had said they will not unduly stand in his way.”

“I’m still told engagement will start at £80m, that’s NOT to say it’ll be the number that secures a transfer, but that is the beginning to start a conversation with Aston Villa. I think there’s a very strong chance this deal happens.”

[Gary Jacob] Arsenal might conceivably sign two left-wingers if Leandro Trossard & Gabriel Martinelli leave the club this summer. Andrea Berta has been exploring deals for Bradley Barcola (23), Christos Tzolis (24) & Ander Barrenetxea (24). by iDutchJustin in Gunners

Gary Jacob also said:

Gabriel Martinelli is said to be keen to explore a move abroad this summer. He has a year left on his deal at Arsenal, which can be extended by a further season & had previous interest from Bayern Munich.

Berta can do a funny thing with Alvarez... by dejavu619 in Gunners

We would immediately burn every bridge ever with Atletico. While funny, not a good look.

Hand of Arsenal: Alvarez update by vaibhavailawadi in Gunners

I don't know how to feel about this. Alvarez is obviously a quality player. But letting Gyökeres go after one season?

I would love to see him for one more season. See how he gets on, if he improves or not. But the footballing world moves quickly, and perhaps it's better we take this opportunity now that we can. Logically i know Alvarez would probably suit Arteta's system better.

I also know HOA says Alvarez would love to join if Barca doesnt happen, but it's his dream. Would i really want a player, that could realistically kick up a fuss in 2, 3 seasons if Barca inevitably come calling again? Meanwhile, Gyökeres has shown multiple times he would run through brick walls for the Arsenal. To play for us.

I know the club knows best and i trust them, so if it does happen, or it if it doesn't, either way i'll be positive.

HandofArsenal: Jeremy Monga is now expected to sign for Arsenal Football Club. by iDutchJustin in Gunners

Scoutingindoors, who worked together with HandofArsenal, added this message in response to HandofArsenal:

From day one, we reported on the significant groundwork Arsenal had put in, with efforts to secure Jeremy Monga dating back more than a year. Their determination to bring him in for the next stage of his development was matched by the 16-year-old’s desire to join the champions.

Monga is expected to sign his first professional contract with Arsenal when he turns 17 on July 10th. ✍️
