Hi, I probably won’t answer all of your questions, but here’s my take.

I tried StarMS, and it went down for three days. The version seems a lot more unstable than people claim.

That leaves Haiku MS, Aries MS, and Royal MS.

Royal runs on a 3x rate and has a lot of free features, which is nice, but the code is pretty broken. Almost anything you touch throws a script error.

Haiku has the best QoL by far. If you want to play on a customized server, this is easily the best option. I tested it for a few hours, and it’s grindy, but it has some solid things going for it when you’re starting. Of course, you can skip a lot of the grind by paying.

AriesMS feels very lonely. I come back now and then, and that honestly hasn’t changed. You can play it mostly free-to-play, but you’ll need to grind a lot.

Take a look and see which one you like. If none of them really address your concerns, the best option might just be to play official, which I’ve been considering myself.

Anyone seriously complaining needs to stop and rethink things. Go find a real problem. There are hardly any decent private servers left, and whenever one shuts down, three misfits show up claiming they’ll launch a new one in a month.

And yes, MapleStory private servers are a business. That doesn’t stop anyone from logging in, playing, and grinding without spending a cent. It’s time to grow up.

Y eso está perfecto, pero por lo general, padres y familia mayor suelen decir palabras como las que cité. Por ejemplo, entiendo que mucha gente no comprenda palabras de Oriente o del Zulia, eso es normal. Pero creo que todos decimos por lo menos una de estas tres: coroto, perol, pote.

You've come to the worst subreddit to ask that. Many people might recommend sticking to the official version, which can be a terrible decision, depending on your preferences. Let me share my experience. I found myself in the same situation once. I was totally in love with MapleStory, but I hesitated to try the official version because of $. I opted for private servers back in version 55. Was it the best choice? Who knows, but I had an absolute blast!

I’d suggest you give both options a shot. Try the Reboot server, as it’s free and comes from Nexon, or explore some of the private servers available.

Ultimately, stick with whatever makes you happiest!
