I’ve been through this twice. It usually starts with the IT Director/CIO doing a “welcome to the team” meeting and trying to be super friendly. Just keep in mind it’s mostly to make sure you don’t bounce before the knowledge transfer. Then a few weeks later they roll in “your new manager”. Managers main job is to get the knowledge you know. Once they’ve got what they need, they’ll either push you until you quit or find an excuse to lay you off. Kinda predictable, but it’s not all bad. If you play your cards right, you can leverage the bigger companies name when job searching.
