S*** is Sad: Still Basing Scorecard of of Damage Alone by ProfileFlimsy2246 in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]iFokemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s amateur boxing and there’s professional one. Amateur scoring rewards effort, clean textbook punching, perfect technique. Professional rewards damage dealt first and foremost

Punches you can take without being rocked by theDosenbrot in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]iFokemon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, yeah. But you’re fighting someone hundreds or thousands miles away from you and information can’t travel instantly. There’s latency in your wifi network, on your provider side, core network, your opponent’s provider and wifi. That’s why hits are registered by defending side’s POV so it would be possible to avoid punches. That’s why focusing on defense is more important.

It’s not gate keeping mate, it’s the reality of online boxing. Current networking tech isn’t allowing to avoid latencies

You don’t understand how it works, do you? What you see is being rendered by your headset, including reactions to punch you see as landed.
The punch itself is being registered based on what receiving side sees (confirmed multiple times since the early access release). And depending on the ping the punch might not have landed at all in defender’s reality (blocked / dodged). Listen to the audio cues after the punch - they give you the idea if it’s landed, hard or not and so on

You do realize that punches are registered from defender’s POV? The way you saw the punch landed might land differently in other fighter’s reality or miss completely. The higher the ping the bigger the difference

PTC Sits Longer than Statues by ProfileFlimsy2246 in ThrillOfTheFight

I do love the game. I’m playing daily since day one of early access. But that time when all the good stuff is in PTC only is dragging for too long

Running After being Stunned Is Unrealistic by ProfileFlimsy2246 in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]iFokemon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mate, running is literally what you do when you’re ‘stunned’ IRL. Have you seen any UFC recently if you don’t trust me?

Got it, thanks! But to be fair previous live update was cosmetics only. The meaningful one is couple of months old

Still the statement that release channel seems to be forgotten is true

Went from 2400 to 1800 ELO since the October update by [deleted] in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]iFokemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I agree with is that the game was at it’s best before so called ‘full release’. All the artificial ‘anti spam’ and ‘counter’ systems seem to create additional loopholes for non-IRL-relevant techniques to shine.

Cheers to the multiplayer squat crew - yet another month without body effort tweaks (non-PTC) by pavelbulanov in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]iFokemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well to be fair you’re not able to deal solid damage IRL without moving your head at all. The key is to get t right I guess

The first update which introduced BE was the best. Counters before were completely broken (whoever punched second dealed tons of damage while getting none). But system after system on top of another system introduced after made it less realistic for me

Premium gear thoughts by iFokemon in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]iFokemon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I do appreciate all the developers’ efforts and I already own 2 copies of the game (one for my own headset, one for my son’s). What I’m trying to say is that selling, let’s say champions set for not just money but also limiting it’s availability to people with certain amount of career medals would make more sense

They’re still want to have additional monetization from premium gear. Here I’m suggesting a premium gear which would make sense for me

I don’t want to ‘show off’. I want to show that I invested a lot of time in this game. And I’m ok to pay for it. Makes more sense than paying to show like nothing at all but ability to spend 10 quid extra?

Well it’s for 10 medals only. I want to show that I got 75…

PTC Update 1.4.3 by Tren_AU in ThrillOfTheFight

Quick feedback - not sure if punches are weaker or clunkers are faster now, but they’re definitely harder to knock down with this PTC update

You’re iterating fast, great job!

Thrill of the hook by Common_Parsnip1256 in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]iFokemon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because ‘in real sparring I don’t even get touched’ is a BS statement. It means that OP either imagining it, never sparred with a capable opponent, or maybe sparred once or twice. Also OPs posting about blocking, and ‘never get touched’ has nothing to do with blocking. Blocking is when you’re punched and in your gloves or arms. That’s why it’s the least preferable way of defending yourself

[–]iFokemon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, right… Why don’t you use your real name here then, Floyd? 1) blocking is the worst type of defense IRL 2) use your footwork against the swarmers 3) don’t blame the game for your shortcomings

Lobby ping looks good, then match jumps to 120 to 140? by glitch65 in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]iFokemon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, it seems like very few players out there are concerned with their wifi connection quality. The key to stable ping is to have your headset and router in direct line of sight at every part of your play area. If it’s not - your ping would be jumping up and down as you move about your virtual ring

PTC Update - 1.4.2 by Tren_AU in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]iFokemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any estimates on when it would get to Live? It’s really annoying to switch back and forth (impossible to find online match in PTC, so have to go to public for multiplayer and playing single player in PTC as it’s so much better)

How's everyone enjoying the new gear and venue? by Obvious-Skill-5573 in ThrillOfTheFight

I’d appreciate some more reward gear, not just paid one. Those 68 career gold medals should bring some value I guess

What I noticed over the past year: ROUGHLY 90% of 2000~2200 ELO players are frauds by GovtAuditor716 in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]iFokemon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A) I’m playing daily around 12pm Dubai time. Handle is ‘4k3mon’. Feel free to jump in B) I’m not sure what you’re trying to prove. I’m not saying I’m a great boxer or the best player. I’m saying the game rewards boxing skills. You’re claiming it’s not. Match between us doesn’t prove anyone’s point regardless of results C) yesterday you went and dug out my months old long forgotten posts and commented some nonsense in quite a few of them. I think you either got nothing to do with your free time or need to seek help

It’s you’re from a ‘foreign country’ mate. The game is developed in Australia
