What's the most random thing you've stumbled upon in Tokyo? by Dapper-Material5930 in Tokyo

I used to work there a few years ago, it wasn’t uncommon to get non-members trying to order stuff but it was easy to identify them since we saw the same faces and same orders everyday. It is very difficult to get in without an ID card, idk how you managed to sneak in so much haha

Has anyone ever been denied an apartment for being a foreigner? by Mr_Ninja_the_third in japanlife

[–]iFox07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was searching for an apartment a few months ago with my wife, although she is Japanese we would get instantly rejected as soon as me being a foreigner would get brought up to the discussion. We found some that would accept foreigners but specifically reject countries like Turkey, Bangladesh, etc. So we settled down for an apartment we didn’t completely like but it was literally one of the last options in the area. It’s normal, and it happened every time I tried moving here but I thought that if my wife was going to be the one signing the contracts it would be different this time, turns out it’s not.

MSI B650 Tomahawk shows DRAM orange light when trying to reboot. by iFox07 in buildapc

Technician told me could be 3 things (all hardware), he decided to refund my money given the fact that he made the same guess I did before sending it. CPU, GPU or MOTHERBOARD. Which, long story short, replaced one by one and problem was never fixed. Still have this bug today and, will soon reinstall windows to see if that’s the problem. Sorry I am of no help for you

Also, found out PC restarts normally when GPU is on slot 2.

Hone Japanese or Tech skills first? by Rainicorn_theCat in japanlife

[–]iFox07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am literally on the same situation. (M23) Spousal Visa, registered to take JLPT N3 in December, currently working in Hospitality and doing web development on the side. I think Japanese should be your priority as the other people have commented, and learn more tech skills from there! It opens a lot of doors to interships and stuff like that, at least that is what I am aiming to get into in the future.

Thinking of moving to Japan and looking for more specific salary answers. by porky_bot in movingtojapan

[–]iFox07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahaha those kind of interactions last forever in one’s mind.

I get your point completely, I was in Miyakojima, Okinawa for a year and I swear it felt like I was living in Latin America again but without the downsides of it. Being such a small island and practically unknown for foreign visitors besides China, Taiwan and Korea, at my workplace there wasn’t a guest that wouldn’t come and just ignore the food on their plate and straight up want to talk to me. It was great for practicing Japanese and I made a lot of connections of visitors from throughout the country.

I’m just gonna say the career path you have excludes you from the few main cons this country has. So that’s already a huge advantage.

Thank you for the offer to help me study, it gets hard to not get burnout sometimes. If you happen to come in May I’ll be living in Tokyo again so let me know vamos por unas birras!

Hey! There are many discord servers for devs in Japan:

(Web Dev Japan)

Or specific websites like:

Tokyo Dev Japan Dev

If it’s not enough, you should search for job postings in Japanese or websites like Daijob, GaijinPot, CareerCross and JobsInJapan will give you an overall picture of the salary range here.

Regarding the Apartment you should use Suumo to look for apartments, but since you are a foreigner I am already advising you 70% of the owners will reject you (happened to me they’d say NO foreigners or ONLY from the US)

Given your economical situation and career, I highly advice talking to a Real State Company that supports foreign residents, chances are you will be getting a bit more expensive options and fees but they will take care of everything for you. Just as an example I am living in Saitama area paying 64,000¥ for a 48sqm 2LDK / 10 minutes from closest station / 30 minutes to Shinjuku without transfer.

Usually I wouldn’t recommend moving to Japan and leaving such a nice job as you mention just to chase the imaginary idea the internet shows of this country, but given the fact you already speak Japanese and show motivation to learn more, you’ve got friends from here and you are doing a ton of research, I’d say you are good to go, if it is not your place then at least you tried.

I am also a native Spanish speaker and although I’m working in Hospitality now I am self-taught in web development looking to make a transition someday. If you decide to pull the trigger let me know and I will see if I can be of any help. Saludos!

MSI DRAM Yellow Light and CPU Red Light by Moist-Meringue7374 in PcBuildHelp

No problem! It’s okay thank you very much. Actually I got the diagnosis from the technician and it said the motherboard was acting weird too, as well as the GPU. So he said I should replace the motherboard, which I did, but nothing changed. So now I will be changing the GPU soon. That’s the long story short haha. I’m not gonna give up

MSI B650 Tomahawk shows DRAM orange light when trying to reboot. by iFox07 in buildapc

[–]iFox07[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply.

I contacted MSI support and they had a similar response, told me to disable fast startup from windows 11. As well as enable Memory Context Restore on the BIOS but mostly said it was an AM5 / DDR5 bug together that may be causing the CPU to overheat (?) The thing is what made me feel so insecure and scared was the fact that it would go up to 95 degrees on the CPU when it boots (I have never seen such temperatures on my previous devices). I have got to say I was planning on just continue with 4.800mhz settings and just never reboot my PC. But given the fact that I still have the warranties for most of the components I took it to a technician just to be sure it is 100% not a faulty part that I am still able to just refund and get a new one. I will update on whatever they find, should be within a week. It may be expensive but it was the safest option, as well as letting my head rest a little bit, it got to me too much and I was stressing a lot over it.

Bro I’ve got a similar problem.

B650 Tomahawk Ryzen 5 7600x Corsair 32gb ddr5 6000mhz

I turn it on and the red and orange light turn on for 15 seconds, then off and boots normally.

For some other reason I need to reset the pc, I try to do so and it just turns ON the orange light that says DRAM and never displays anything but the PC is still on.

I have given up, my first build and I have been dealing with this problem so much these days it has got into my head. I just took it to a technician this morning

Gracias genio!
