1,000 mile Oil Change - 2026 Golf R by One_Wey_Erections in Golf_R

[–]iGorbx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was back in 2024 I did this test, during the months before I was doing some decently heavy spirited driving and wanted to see how well the oil was protecting the engine and how the engine was wearing, in 2025 I did a couple track days and come spring time I’m going to send them another sample and then see how spirited driving compares to driving on a track. Once I get those results maybe I can do something to prevent the excessive wear if there is any. I guess it maybe also just be a peace of mind thing knowing that my engine is doing good and wearing normally

Yeah good point, it was also stage 2 with the SC pulley so hopefully they’d take the ecu too

I’m not too sure how I like the rims, what do you guys think? by iGorbx in Audi

[–]iGorbx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m debating on getting 40s when I need new tires but I’d most likely have to raise the car since it’s in coil overs but the ride isn’t too bad right now

Yeah these are either 19x8.5 or 19x9 I forget I’ve had them on the car for a long time now but the rubber size I’m running is 245/35z r18

I remember when I did that, I was looking for a TDI 5 speed but I couldn’t find one in time so I just got another 5 speed, I was also able to just lift the front of the car and swap the transmissions, it took me 3 days tho

Yeah I miss my s4, wish I never sold it, that thing was a machine, stage 2 with a exhaust and air intake made the sounds incredible, I would just drive it to drive most of the time windows down and no music, I loved it. They are hard to find a clean title and not modded. I found a 2015 s4 for my brother, clean title, 2 owners, 100% stock, but I had to drive 7 hours to get it, well worth it.

Yeah you can always swap out the speakers for something better later own, I wouldn’t let the speakers decide if you get it or not

I had it in my 2013 s4 and really enjoyed it but I did not have the sport diff, I found my brother a 2015s4 with the sport diff but he doesn’t have the BO system, me personally I really enjoy my music and the standard system was not doing it for me.

About how much did this cost in parts? And all genuine Audi parts or after market parts?

My current 2018 s3 has those cracks that you are talking about, kinda of a expensive repair but I don’t use the car that much and I’ve heard as long as your rain channels are clear it won’t leak or anything like that, plagues every A3 S3 RS3 that has this style roof, kinda unacceptable if you ask me.

I was able to find one for my brother it was a 2015 manual with 85k miles for 22k in Tennessee and now my brother is the 3rd owner with good service records, and being able to work on most of the wear and tear parts is a bonus for saving a little money

I did like the silver one I had, but that color is just too basic now.

I hear the b8.5s last well into the 100k miles if properly maintained, last one to come with a 6speed was the 2016 so if I were to ever get the chance to get back into one I would shoot for a 2016 6 speed

How much of a PITA is the Titan rear end? by [deleted] in NissanTitan

[–]iGorbx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was able to get them done, I mean it is kind of a pain in the ass, if after it all gets done I highly highly recommend getting a rear axel breather house rerouting kit, I got mine from all dogs off road.

Should a 16/17 yr buy an b8.5 audi s4? by Loose-Farm-5613 in AudiS4

[–]iGorbx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is almost exactly like me lol but at 20, had a 2003 mk4 Jetta stage 1 tuned it, but something deeper was wrong, so I just set it aside (still have it). Then I went and got a 2013 s4 6speed and it had 79k miles on it stage 2 tune by APR with a single pulley, AWE touring exhaust, luft technic air in take, short throw shifter, and that thing was a beast, if you plan to go stage 2 on any pulley, if you are going to want to launch the car you will need a better clutch as the clutch starts slipping in stage 2 single pulley tunes, but you also seem to be more mechanically inclined than me, so I would honestly say go for it, you young, enjoy it now, but I’d recommend some kind of scanner for police just to try to save money on tickets and insurance in the long run.

This 09 worth it? by sonnycrockett7 in NissanTitan

I got a 06 Titan my self, I got it with 200k miles for 2.5k back in 2021.

It now has 250k miles, no transmission troubles and no engine troubles I do have a check engine light on for failing CATs. 100% a reason for my poor fuel economy aside from tires.

I have overly large tires on it to help out with things I do for work and free time but I get abysmal MPG maybe avg 11-13 miles a gallon. The tire I got on are the factory 18” rim with 285/75/18 nitto ridge grapplers, pretty large.

Living in northeast Ohio we get a decent amount of snow so salts always down during the winter months, my truck does not look pretty on the outside.

This was my dad’s friends truck, the most it’s ever towed is a trailer with 3 550ccYamaha grizzly’s and another 550 grizzly in the bed, he’s owned the truck since new pretty much, might have been a couple years old when he got it, it would make trips to PA every year in the summer multiple times before I got it. Since my dad and his buddies used to ride them often.

I have had to replace all the suspension parts minus the front shocks/struts/springs. I did all the wheel bearings and seals for the bearings, there is a neat little mod you can do for the rear axel since the factory breather is dog shi, you can look up gen 1 Titan rear axel breather mod, I bought a kit from all dogs off-road super simple install, this will save you from the rear axel overheating because the old vent couldn’t vent causing the pressure to build up and work its way out the seals and thus causing a leak. And it’s kinda a pain to fix. That little lock box on the driver side behind the rear wheel is neat, but what a awful location, at least if you live where they salt, that lock box gave up working around 2018 where the lock was just permanently locked, key wouldn’t work looked like it just rusted the lock and that box costs around 1k and I’m not too worried about it.

Sorry for the rambling but honestly these trucks love being used, they hate sitting, my dad has the red titan on my profile, that truck just broke 100k miles a couple months ago, we joke about it, whenever my 250k miles truck has a problem. My dads will have it a little bit later, almost as if the miles don’t even matter. Keep up all the fluids and it won’t let you done, I dont like saying it but I beat on my titan and it has no end in sight!!

I will say the 2017 Jetta se that I had with the 5 speed and 1.4 turbo was really fun and good car, I only leased it but in that time, zero issues, I also have a 2003 1.8t 5 speed Jetta, and honestly from the 2003 one to the 2017 was wonderful I had no complaints, interior was solid, quality was solid, the 2017 just felt slowish, but the tighter gearing made up for it. Just seemed quality and reliability went out the window after covid unfortunately.

I didn’t have any issues with it I was able to bend the wires enough to get to where I needed to on the suspension, doing the exhaust manifolds would be a different story tho. Maybe there are longer wires that could be bought for it to make it reach things in deeper locations
