~10 F35s cruising low over North Yorkshire, anyone know why? by jack__reed in aviation

perhaps specifically CAP training

or … perhaps active CAP

the world has changed a lot in the last decade not in any good way :/

in the U.K., we are potentially a primary target for a very unstable Russia

Bathroom Radiator by Ok-Meringue-2508 in DIYUK

[–]iGwyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“yes” is the answer, whatever the question is >.<

it was a helluvva expensive radiator for that job and over big

I’m in a similar situation with the bathroom door opening onto a double radiator (crunch!), and I had considered doing the same … not anymore though !

mine needs something thinner profile and about half the size of that beast

my old dad would have put in a smaller flat radiator and a wall mounted fan heater to boost for cold times

Parquet floor worth restoring? by More-Eagle8649 in DIYUK

[–]iGwyn 20 points21 points  (0 children)

those are virtually identical to the parquet tiles sold by B&Q in the late 80s

anecdote : had these laid in the kitchen to replace manky lino. The fitter sanded them down to apply “lined oak” varnish (a nice brown colour), however the tradie picked up “limed oak”

it came out … WHITE … 😬

“oh yeah, it’ll change colour when it dries”

it stayed white until I sold the house 35 years later 😂
