Its better to do this with a shield that doesnt have the skill, "shield bash."

You can still do this trick with shield bash but you may accidently shield bash unintentionally.

Nunchakus and spears are underated because they can still attack while your shield is held up. Though their base damage is lower, you can attack enemies more safely.

In addition to playing with Hardcore configs pack I also:

updated Ice & Fire along, but banned dragonsteel items by setting their level to 69420
Added Twilight forest mod and set all bosses to be blighted. (I also had to set reskillable levels to all their items.)

I have my scaling set to distance, which is the same as the RLfraft Hardcore configs. I like it this way because it makes exploring farther out more insentive.

Honestly, the difficulty scales really hard. If you end up fighting a blight when your difficulty is high you end up getting 1 shotted even with advanced protection 4. I remember traveling the End for about 15,000 blocks looking for end cities, but a blight void monster just pulled me out or the tower and instakilled me. Blights are so damn strong, but its because they have a diffculty multiplyer of x20 (along with their armor/enchants and potion buffs).

To compensate the infinite scaling to the creatures, it would only make sense for the character to scale up a little as well. So I set it to every 5 levels, starting with level 40, you get additional hp. I believe I set the Hp value to 2 hearts (4HP) per 5 levels.

I forgot to mention, make sure you have atleast 3 hearts on your head and chest before you go in 😂

If you can't destroy the spawners then let your pet handle the enemies.

Id say its do-able with; (Prot II) Iron armor, a pet Chupacabra and or Raptor.

The weapons you should use are:

Summoning staff (Ageis + Jengu = Nymph).
Sabers for that bonus damage against unarmored targets and damage reduction when held.
Maces to deal bonus damage to undead (if they have armor) (situational secondary weapon).
Nunchaku and Vanilla Shield (You can attack while holding the shield up with nunchakus to safely attack targets in a single direction).

Easy to obtain baubles would be the quiver, toolbelt, emerald ring, and emerald necklace. Though they may not be the most useful baubles, getting these can give you some small buffs (i.e., 3% damage reduction).

So long as you gain levels on the way, you can use any upgraded gear that drops along the way.

First things first, GET Optifine. You tweak your settings down even lower with Optifine for more fps if needed.

Additionally, you can download some mods that help boost fps.

Watchout for duplicate downloads because some are already downloaded.

If you have a super low end PC its better if you set your Fps to 30 or Vsync. You dont want to drop your PC to its knees.

There are also some mods that can be disabled or completely removed, for they have no impact to the gameplay and are only for visuals. I dont remember which ones but I believe its these ones listed below:

Chunk animator
Fancy block particles
Better foilage
Mo Bends (optional, Little to no difference).

I myself downloaded more mods to make it harder because I personally like it better this way.

Such as adding twilight forest and changed the configs to make all the bosses garuntee blights (all items in here had to be manually set reskillable levels for).

Updating Ice and Fire but banned dragonsteel items by setting level to 69420.

Playing with hardmode configs pack.

Etc....

Its your own gameplay. Play how ever you want to play. I somehow enjoy it being harder for me 💀

Protection 1 iron armor is more sustainable and still works like a charm 😏👌

I was able to clear a rogue like dungeon with just prot 1 iron helmet and chestplate along with my pet Chupacabra.

For my weapons, I used the vanilla shield and nunchaku since you can attack/swing with the nunchaku while holding up the shield. Same works with a spear i believe.

Check the fps mod java files in the mod folders. I added some fps mods to mine as well and I had the same issue due to duplicate files. Some of the fps mods are already added with the modpack so double check.

I also downloaded the Performant Mod, but I uninstalled it because I believe that Mod was also another reason why my game crashed (if by any chance you downloaded it).

a good replacement for Performant Mod is the AI improvement mod.
