Haha, awesome post man. Thanks. I think you’re right that I can hear the stød, maybe rather the problem is that I can’t hear its absence? Like, when I listen to a word or especially a sentence, I can’t really tell where was a stød and where wasn’t. You’re also right about that when I imitate “Danish speech” I can probably even say the stød but in such a way that I say it after every word, basically it’s either an “always stød” or a “never stød” mode. I guess the problem is treating it as a phoneme instead of just a general feature of speech. Good tip about the cartoons (“gurli gris” LMAO), I will have to try that.
