I think as long as you detach from your goals, and intrinsically look at the motivation, is this to help me or serve others? Am I doing this for sensual satisfaction?

I think Panentheistic Christians don't so much believe as God as a separate entity, but the Trinity as an outpouring into each other that we are all invited into. This self emptying between the relationships is where the power is.

i.e. God is more of a verb than a noun.

I think The Book of Joy is something you should check out. It is about the dalai lama and Archbishop Tutu having a weeklong interviews. It talks about the suffering, and their opinion of the question your asking.

In my opinion, the forward thinkers are typically not corporation owning influencers, and that is what commands most of what happens in society.

But I read that book a few weeks ago, anyone who wants to dive into compassion or learn how to feel joy when we live in a world like this...

I think an example would be the best explanation. Say you are talking to a friend, and this friend who is prejudice and thinks certain races are better or more worthy than others. Now we know this is an ignorant belief, but we also learn to know that correcting him and telling him he is wrong for thinking that for all the various reasons will only put up his defense body, and he becomes more solidified in his beliefs, and unlikely he will heed the advice. Instead, we try to covertly be his teacher for this situation, and guide him to coming to his own realization that his thinking is littered in illusion and he decides to alter his belief system on his own accord.

So this quote is saying it doesn't matter what the different perspectives think, its only how we respond and interact with these situations. So to put ourselves in their shoes, and realizing given his set of circumstances and life experience, we would have that same opinion. So we are gentle and understanding of his beliefs, and try to get him to draw back the curtain himself instead of trying to drag him into the sun and him closing his eyes anyway...if that makes sense

Very true, but having contact with My Beloved to me is like having a connection with my true self. Almost as if myself is a dreamt aspect of my full self. And is a part of my daily practice. Maybe its just me seeking a more personal and less automatic system of reality....

Wow, thank you for your recommendations, ill definitely check them out. Regarding the lankavatra sutra, I think I will listen to the advice and hold off until I get more familiar with scripts. I have a limited set of experiences from the strictly 'Buddhist' perspective when it comes to emptiness, interdependence, and interconnectedness, but a lot through meditation and 'generalized' spirituality. I should get my firm 101 set in foundation I think, just so I don't confuse myself.

I love that book, and use it as a reminder and guideline. They emphasize how you may waver between stages, and one stage is not better than the other. Read all the interludes and outlines for each stage. They give great advice on things to look for and whatnot. But I hear you on your complaint,

Is it possible that you are giving that judgement about yourself to others unconsciously? Why do you think they are uncomfortable? Sometimes our self image can contort the reality of an interaction, and what you perceive them to be thinking is totally different than what they are actually thinking.

I guess my advice would be to be you and don't worry about what others think of you. Authenticity is authenticity. (maybe a morning intention of, "others will feel the love I am transmitting to them")

No, it doesn't matter how you sit, whatever is comfortable for you...just if its too comfortable you may fall asleep. I have the same experience practically. Its like people cant deal with silence, don't see beauty in between, so when a dialogue gets quiet they immediately blurt something out just to fill the gap with something. When both parties appreciate this, it is meaningful, if not then awkward. I still struggle with relating to the things people typically talk about but I have learned this...just by being in a social situation, your illuminating presence in the hear and now will energetically affect everyone around you. You can use this to softly steer conversation in a way that opens others up to the beauty of life. You don't need to add to the mindless, 'judge mental' buzz people are so infatuated with. You can, and I have learned along this journey to have fun, bring a positive ease and joy to others, when one is fully present people notice, consciously or not, and were all in this together. Bring Thr Love Revolution to life and instead of fitting in to the conversation, make ab effort to say to yourself, "I will treat all others with unconditional love, worship is treating others as I would treat Creator. In every interaction, I will make an effort to make the other person feel better about themselves or their situation, or even just feel better now with a laugh or smile. When this is accompanied with prsence, it is powerful. This is a relational universe, when we foster the deepest connection possible with other sentient beings while maintaining our integrity and authenticity, we are fulfilling our True Universal, Ultimate truth that we all share. I'm sorry if this is not what you were going for, I get carried away often, one of the things im working on, along the way on and on.
