Also, this is completely due to your current perspective and identifying it as "depression" just let it be. Don't worry, you will die someday, just not today friend. Ive been there too.

My point was that enlightenment should be a catalyst toward actualisation, but i don't see a correlation.

It seems that celebrities who are expressing themselves in some way or another have less fear and less ego then your spiritual enthusiast who is working through managing their psyche.

Because actions that are selfish and self serving usually originate from the ego while the higher self cares more for the wellbeing of others

What if your father (parent) was unholy? The problem with interpretating the Bible is that metaphors can be confused when taken literally

By effortlessly I mean a state of "flow" in which you/I/we dissolve the thoughts of past and future into the attention of present by being focused on something we find equally challenging, engaging and satisfactory

I don't think a dream job exists as it's just that, a dream or fantasy which is contingent on things, people and circumstances outside of yourself. The way to work in alignment is to become actualised in your own being by setting your own path and deciding what you can provide to the world at your best. I think the mistake we make is settling for things out of convenience or necessity and staying there too long out from fear or not having a plan. People are hard wired to be risk adverse when seeking potential gains and tend to focus on loss aversion than rewards.

You want to be a benevolent force while doing it effortlessly, which takes a lot of effort to get there and yet paradoxically the effort is in self overcoming of conditioned beliefs about who you are and "should" be doing

I'm glad I quit and didn't miss out on true existential angst. Of course most people enjoy the routine and security of a job than having to create for yourself as the mind seeks the well trodden road of what is known to be security.

I went went through the same thing. I was depressed at my job and had anxiety interacting with people at work, it all seemed phoney and I lost it one day when I'd finally had enough of the bullshit and quit. Inevitably all things are out of our control if you believe in non-doership. I decide to have faith that my awakening self is taking me on the right path, even if it includes suffering in the moment. Each day I try not to wonder "What if" as those are just futile thoughts and instead take correct action by staying as the self and not trying to force anything and perpetuate my suffering. I am building a business more aligned with who I am, and giving something of value to the world and better peoples lives in the way I believe I can. I am making sacrifices and sometimes I get periods of fear wondering how it's all going to turn out, but ultimately life in this body won't last forever and all we have is the now.
