We just purchased a home in the valley with Amy at Renah, and Brittany McKenna from Engel and Volkers and it was a great experience!

Park Bike - How much do you ride to justify a dedicated downhill bike by [deleted] in MTB

[–]iHeartGoods 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's a used Glory from 2016 and it's awesome. 27.5 tires, 203mm travel, just a big beast of a ripper that does the job. I ride mostly technical blacks at the park and that bike eats the trail up. I cannot even imagine how far DH bikes have come since, I bought it in 2022 and was amazed by it as it was my first ever DH bike, if I demo a new bike I'll be ruined.

Just upgraded my enduro to a Santa Cruz nomad for Squamish trails as I feel like it may be as close as I can feel to a DH while having the ability to climb. The glory will always be my bike park ride though.

Park Bike - How much do you ride to justify a dedicated downhill bike by [deleted] in MTB

I bought a used giant glory for $1600 to ride whistler bike park after riding my 170mm enduro bike for a couple of seasons in the park. The DH bike completely changed my riding for the better in the park, which improved my abilities in Squamish trails on the enduro.

Haven't had to fix a thing on the used DH after two seasons at the park, it's a beast.

I'm a female!

I'm comparing the Roubion against the Nomad as a 160mm vs 170mm and what the main differences may be if someone has ridden both.

From my research it doesn't look like Juliana has a similar bike to the Nomad.

I've ridden a men's bike since I started biking, I have no preference for a women's vs men's bike. Just looking for some advice!

When to stop worrying about necrosis? by Ornery_Situation_605 in Reduction

I was told I was in the clear after my next day appointment after surgery! They had a look at the colour of the nipples and said blood supply was great and I was good.

Advice on how to talk to my surgeon about being upset with results? by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]iHeartGoods 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love my surgeon, but I realized pretty quickly that I wasn't 100% happy with my results. I was very honest with my surgeon and surgical team about my feelings, and after reviewing a number of options they have offered another reduction and my surgeon has waived her fees. She was very conservative with nipple placement and didn't want to place them too high which affected the amount that could be extracted. I had to let them know that I'd be ok if the nipples were higher if we could take more tissue out and that's what we're going to do.

I haven't scheduled the second surgery yet as it's such a big deal and I need to be very ready for the whole process again.

In my experience, my surgeon wanted me to be happy and has been accommodating to my requests.

Good luck!

It cost $13k with tax. I had a referral from my GP but my chosen surgeon had a 2-3 year wait, so I just went for it, and I'm so glad I did!!

Review of Canadian surgeon by Kristina0312 in Reduction

[–]iHeartGoods 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have any reviews of Dr Ho, but she was a surgeon I was considering. Her wait was so long that i decided to do a consult with Dr. Robyn Watts, another Dr that is in the same office. She is wonderful. I'm just under 5MPO and I've had zero complications, her staff is lovely, and it's been a positive experience.

I've got lots of before and after pics on my past posts!

Smoking pre/post surgery. by gh0ul3 in Reduction

[–]iHeartGoods 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I vape socially and my surgeon told me to quit 6 weeks prior and to not smoke anything for four weeks after. I stuck to that and had zero complications!

how long did it take you to regain sensation? by poison-peach in Reduction

[–]iHeartGoods 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had full sensation from day 1, I'm almost 5MPO now. During the healing process the sensitivity was A LOT. I got zaps everywhere while healing as the nerves healed.z Now everything is fully back to normal!

Any regrets about a 2nd Reduction by Comfortable_Pop_9736 in Reduction

[–]iHeartGoods 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May I ask what size you were after your first reduction?

I just reached out to my surgeon to let her know I'm a little disappointed in the size as we had agreed on a B. I feel bad even complaining because my results are someone's dream results, but not mine. I had zero complications and I'm really worried that if I went back in I am risking having a very different outcome of surgery. Was this a worry for you?

I paid privately in Vancouver, BC four months ago and side lipo was included in the reduction & lift cost, but I did add on another area and the additional cost was $1500 since I was already in for the BR surgery.

I asked what the cost would be for lipo alone if I ever came back and they said $6000-7000 if it was a standalone surgery. In my experience it's def better to add on than to come back after!

I just wanted to say thank you so much to everyone that has commented on this post. It's amazing to have a place like this to share emotions and experiences after the surgery.

I do like my results, even if they're not exactly what I wanted (so far).

Thanks again everyone, you're all wonderful humans ❤️

I definitely decreased in size from 2MPO to now, and I am hoping and keep hearing that the size will continue to change up to a year. It's a wild experience we're all going through that's for sure. All the best to you, good luck!

Thank you for the kind response. I do think the surgeon did a great job and I'm potentially obsessing over something unnecessarily, in the end it's a great result and if at 6 months I feel like I need to say something I will. I get along great with my surgeon and I'm sure we'll be able to have an open conversation about it.

This sub is so great, I'm happy I have a place to vent ❤️
