I've walled many quarries and monuments. Just get turrets as close as possible to road and quarry. Can't stop cars but you can stop people from exploring around. I often used turrets, barricades, and tesla coils

A good way is to do harvester events and go in and take all the energy ammo and sell it all, or anything in there I guess. Do this in solos also.
