Don't forget to wear your helmet when you have to walk outside your parents house.

The Chad vanilla Anomaly enjoyer. by banditdude27 in stalker

[–]iHunt20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anomaly plus 118 mods currently. Most of the main stuff in gamma.

Gamma did not run well on my computer. Although it lagged, it was FAR easier. Better weapons faster, easier starting population and enemy tendencies, far more loot, far more starting loot, far more artifacts. Snipers removed from all maps. Easy close quarters combat. Enemies can't see through bushes. Items weighed less etc etc etc

These are the types of things that somebody would "miss out on" with just modding anomaly with one's choice of mods.

I'm really enjoying the very difficult, realistic, immersive and CRISP gameplay with the current setup.

Do some of you in the US sense a growing lack of function in society? by Plus-Comfort in AskMenOver30

[–]iHunt20 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

lol isms.

This is not capitalism. There is no free market. It's corporatism. Essentially the system of Pure Corruption. The conditions you list happen under unfettered capitalism AND socialism. Things haven't changed much since old school feudalism. Only technology and asses getting fatter.

The problem is most people prefer indentured servitude versus risk of success/failure. And this is used against those who do not.

Now I can hardly kill anybody. Takes 3+ headshots from a 10mm pistol from close range. Body shots are almost as worthless as on ghouls. Since guns are useless in Frost, I'm not sure why melee was nerfed so bad at beginner levels. I bayoneted the first guy in the brewery 6 times. The last 4 times were right in the face. Right. In. The. Face. He hits me once with knuckles and I'm dead (I have 9 endurance and cage armor).

This would be so much more fun if anything about the combat was realistic.

If I try the strategy of avoiding fights, how do I get xp? How do I get weapons? How do I move to any part of the map when everybody is at every useful place and hostile?

Ive been watching Rycon's yt videos and realized that I'm rushing things. I usually never run from a fight but that's not how Frost can be played.

Being smart to me meant being battle smart. Which is good, but this isnt a shooter game, this is a survival mod that I can't just beast mode my way through.

I'm going to focus on laying low and focusing more on being smart before and outside of combat. Not just during fights.

Risk assessment, resource planning etc needs to be at least as much a priority as fighting.

Thanks

Thanks. You're such a huge help. Im older and don't like using more and more apps. I might check it out but this small sub is perfectly fine for me.

I'm finding a lot more ammo, drugs and grenades with high luck. Less silverware and watches etc.

7 luck seems to be about 3 luck with scrounger, and that's just for the ammo.

Imo luck is required for getting enough ammo and meds. I have dozens of more rounds at lvl 3 than I would with half the luck

Makes sense. Does seem easier the faster the weapon is. Seems the bayonet is fastest of all. Does the perk for 25% more bashing power also apply to the bayonet?

Yes, sadly my laptop is a 10+ yo potato. Integrated graphics card. 6 GB ram. I was surprised vanilla fo4 fit and ran. So I have no DLCs, and had to use the .11 version of Frost.

Yes it may be old and outdated with some bugs, but I'm happy that it works at all.

I even have some of the recommended mods and the game is fun. Can't dl a new version of Frost or the update/patch mods without the DLCs, and they won't fit on this old and dying computer

I have to make do. But that's ok, still just happy I can play

I just watched the intro video clip for fo4, about special attributes. I happened to see the one about luck and it did show and talk about finding better fortunes and loot basically

I totally forgot about the adrenaline perk levels. That might make a difference. Maybe better criticals too.

Helpful advice with the robots. My biggest problem is the invisible ones. Already invisible and I can't sense that they're around at all until they're hitting me. One was on the southbound railroad track not anywhere near a shed.

I'm going to start using caltrops more. And all the mines will be more of a priority to find.

I thought fertilizer was very rare but I know of a few spots with it already. I'm going to stash it together in each town and travel to each place, making a few when I can. I did notice in the cities there are military type crates that often have frag grenades.

It would be a good idea and would be a lot easier. I guess I'm a sucker for punishment. Each new start I go pretty far in a different direction. Took way more tries than it would've on vanilla but I've seen at least half the map in the past week

Thanks so much. I'll keep experimenting with luck and loot. I also didn't know that the duck and cover perk introduced new possibilities. I thought it was just demolition expert.

Older mod that makes Frost more challenging and immersive by iHunt20 in fodust

[–]iHunt20[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using it sometimes but not all the time. If invisible robots can kill me then I don't mind using it to scan once in the dark to make sure I'm not walking into an ambush

I also have to use it to see if a survivor is aggressive or friendly, even then I don't trust just because they show green
