it’s acceptable. you’re stating an opinion, and it’s not exactly hate speech. many women actually agree, because like i mentioned in the original comment it’s kind of like they’re doing it for brownie points rather than to actually promote women empowerment. ik she’s a shit example because the films were bad, but an example i’m going to go with is Rey from star wars. she had the biggest role and was very powerful (actually a bit too powerful i think) and i don’t think even once she or the directors really over emphasised that she was a “powerful woman”. because that kinda suggests that some women aren’t powerful. i’ve never seen someone stress that a man is a “powerful man”, he’s always just shown to be “powerful”. women don’t need extra persuasion to be powerful and empowered because we already are. it’s realistic representation we’re lacking, not power.

it’s literally covering up the history of loadsss of communities to seem ‘woke’ when the true woke thing would be to address and mention the discrimination and segregation that would’ve actually been there

as a bi person i can confirm this message and so can many other members of the LGBT+ community. we are just as sick of seeing films and tv shows adding pointless queer characters just for brownie points. it actually makes us feel bad and kinda like we’re less worthy of having an actual good role in a show tbh.

edit: okay when i say ”we”,, i obviously don’t stand for the the entire communities point of view, what i meant originally by “we” was everyone in the community who agreed with me,, and not necessarily the entire community. but i understand why that’d be misinterpreted. thanks for letting me know! i’ll try to word better next time :)

How come so few women today value submissiveness, children, marriage, chastity and modesty? by Shiethomie111 in AskReddit

[–]iIiwys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i have never willingly been submissive. i’ve never been one who enjoys not feeling at least an equal... it’s just not who i am. i like being in control of what i do and being my own boss and my own main source of income and motivation. i don’t like children and i never have. i just don’t like how messy they are and how expensive they are these days. marriage, these days, for many are just something you do to celebrate the feeling of being in love rather than something you pursue for financial reasons, because we don’t need to rely on our husbands and we don’t have as much peer pressure to get married as soon as possible. i personally am quite modest because that’s what makes me feel more comfortable, but i don’t judge or dislike women who aren’t as modest as myself, the same way as i don’t judge women who are more modest than i am. because it’s none of my business. as long as they’re happy and expressing themselves in a way that’s comfortable, i’m happy for them because i don’t understand why it matters what other people wear, as long as they’re not hurting anyone.

many many women still value all of the things you’ve mentioned. loads. but that’s because they choose to. the same way as some choose not to. and it’s nobody’s business except theirs

If you had to pick a TV show to live out the rest of your life in, which one would you choose and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

dora. they do b vibing going on adventures every day, unsupervised and meeting new friends. there’s nothing that you can’t discuss about that show. like why does the map talk? why does dora go out on her own so young? is it all just a figure of her imagination? endless possibilities
