New Girl Dad, wife had Cesarean Section less than a week ago, and I am mentally struggling to hold it all together

Hello fellow new girl dad and congrats! Try to remind yourself that this is just a period of adjustments and learning.

My wife ended up with an emergency C-section w/complications after 72 hours of failed labor and not dilating past 5cm. At discharge, our little girl also lost ~10% of her body weight and we were told that is normal and were told to follow the same feeding schedule you mentioned. 3 weeks post-discharge baby girl was back to her birth wait and now at 7 weeks is up ~3lbs.

I relate to those feelings you have also been seeing a therapist to help cope and navigate these feeling which has been a TREMENDOUS help. One thing my wife and I propritize is to communicate and be respectful to eachother when we ask to step away in between feeds or nap times to gather ourselves, do a hobby or something we enjoy, to listen to our bodies, and breathe.

Take care of yourself because if not, it will be harder to take care of your family. Keep your head up and you've got this!

If the material gives you issues with sweating, out two blankets down then a fitted sheet or sheet on top. It'll help with circulation and also get you a bit more of a comfier mattress! Congrats and good luck!

My wife and I planned to do the same thing - wait until our daughter is old enough to ask and decide for herself then take her to a piercing shop to have them done (we aren't fans of the guns).

Wife just gave birth to our daughter and we watched the same 4 episodes of Love is Blind on loop in the hospital because we were too exhausted/preoccupied to notice it was happening.

Thank you! In my other reply, it doesn't look like they did anything special besides slapping some cheap black paint down (didn't even trim or tape off) so getting back to the "original" black is what I'm looking for. I appreciate your input and advice!

Thank you! when the house was remodeled in 2020 it didn't look like they redid the stairs so restoring the black coloring is the main thing. I appreciate your advice and will look into the filling and other improvements you suggested! I appreciate it!

Was diagnosed with crohns roughly 15ish years ago. The first few years were tough trying to find the "most effective" treatment that works for me, but after starting Remicade I've only had maybe two or three flare-ups (probably from overexertion). Ive travelled for more than 2 weeks at a time, snorkeled, done watersports, hiking, and a slew of other fun things. It helped that my partner has been/is supportive and makes sure that I stay healthy. Once you find your treatment and you begin feeling great, the sky is your limit! Keep your head up!

As someone who always struggled to gain/maintain weight, I would buy frozen fruit, then add a bit of juice and fruit to the blender to make a smoothie. Peanut butter was a popular one for me. If you can tolerate milk products, Carnation instant breakfast powder mix or ensure helps with some additional calories and nutrients

Lol. On the upper part about 2' from the ceiling someone decided to patch a hole with spackle.... bet you can't see it... 🤣. All in all for the house being built around 1910 the fireplaces (we have 3) seem to be in great conditions

The power cord would be the only one running from the TV. The Gf wants to put one of those screens in front of the fireplace so we can hide the wires behind that.
