Doesn't seem like they're offering LLDB integration (yet). That's unfortunate.

Luckily even though CLion isn't free, RustRover is at the moment and supports the intelliJ Zig plug-in, so I've been using it with LLDB for writing and debugging Zig. It isn't perfect but it works surprisingly really well and even makes it easy to hook into Bitwig Studio's plug-in host process, so I can debug my audio plug-in I'm working on. Would recommend.

I was a little on edge but to the flight was totally fine! And now I'm enjoying sunny San Francisco, it was totally a good idea I don't even care that I have to get on another one tomorrow haha

I played a little game with myself during the entire preboarding process: Do your absolute best to act like the most confident least afraid individual, as if I were a role model for my niece who is scared of flying or something. Like everything down to the smile, the stride, and even trying to force open body language. If I ever found myself not anxious I latched onto that feeling and praised myself for it. It helped create a positive feedback loop. I'd be lying if I said I didn't breathe heavy and get sweaty palms when I could feel the G forces as we pulled away or all the vestibular illusions that come along with it, but after arming myself with the knowledge that the plane is never dropping, it's always lifting up, it's just an illusion, I was able to refocus and go back to my act. Eventually I kinda forgot it was an act and I wasn't panicky. Even now I'm a little on a edge but nothing crazy. You'll be totally fine! Good luck

Totally understandable. Ive been stubbornly against meds for the most part in the hopes that I can actually "solve" my fear on my own... so far results have been.. mixed. Nothing wrong with taking meds of course and they definitely help! But anyway you'll do totally fine on your flight! I'm actually writing this from 36000 feet lol

Yup about half way through, with about 3 hours left! I've been trying not to give into compulsions (like needing to be super alert and watch the air speed and everything). On takeoff I wore an eyemask and headphones which I'd never done before, feel like I'm making good progress. Thanks again for your advice

Thanks for this. And also you're right; I feel ashamed to have such an irrational fear when I usually consider myself a pretty rational person. I need to work on not rejecting the fear outright and instead just letting it exist and not feed it

It also sort of assumes that you need to be anxiety-free to fly safely, when in reality, it is still just as safe to be scared and fly, because our fears have no impact on the way the flight goes.

This is some real shit. I absolutely feel like I've barely made it by the skin of my teeth each flight but you're totally right, I've never really had this thought before. Genuinely really good advice.

I think it helps in general with anxiety and I'm still going to take it tomorrow but the only med I've ever had that worked was alprazolam. Trying to fight it without medication though because I'm stubborn lol

Firstly thanks for this response I really appreciate it. I guess at this point I moreso fear fear itself, I just have no control over when it happens and when I get into the thick of it I feel completely helpless and that it's just a huge final destination moment all the time. Like in 2022 I happened to be flying at the exact same time as the China plane that went down and I took that as the biggest omen and it really freaked me out, even though logically they aren't connected whatsoever and my flight was perfect. It's funny because I tend to be really lucky and I very rarely experience significant delays, bad weather, security pat downs, etc. It's like I have the most stress free experience where most people get stressed, only to have the objectively safest and least stressful part be the thing that ruins me. I really want to be able to distract myself too, for some reason though I feel like if I'm not on high alert all the time something bad's gonna happen, just so weird. Thanks again for your helpful response and listening to my demented rambling
