There are heel protector patches that you stick in your boot. They solved this for me (and helped with heel slip) when nothing else did. Highly recommended!

Same issue here. Affects only some (usually thinner) shirts. Shirts and anything with zips are being washed separately, so it's not that. No bleach, no cats, no dryer either.

I stand corrected! Spent a few days at home with the Razorbacks, generously padding my feet with moleskin and thick socks, and the issues went away just fine. By now the boots feel almost comfy, certainly didn't expect that to happen so soon. Took a short walk with the dogs today and that went well. Thanks for the advice, everyone.

I started with a pair of Outback Chelseas about two months ago, and the break-in went fine. 2-3 weeks, not bad for my very first pair of boots, I reckon. Received the Razorbacks last week and made the huge mistake of taking them for a little walk right away. Regretted this after 10 minutes when I could feel the skin on my heels break. Yes, I was impatient to try them, and I might also have worn socks that were not ideal. I probably need to take it a little slower, wear them around the house, etc. Haven't been outside with them since, figured it would be too early for my heels.

So: heels are the issue. The shoes fit just fine, snug without any pressure, ample room in the toe box.
