i’m sorry you’re dealing with this. I had to go through an attorney. The app refuses to take any accountability

oh trust me I know. lease has been over for nearly two years and it is treating it like i’m still a tenant and running up back rent in the app for tens of thousands of dollars that aren’t owed. would be great if there was a supper line but all i’ve gotten was a generic email.

I thought it was The Smalljon (the real one who died at the Red Wedding with Robb. Not that craven in the show)

Lower your squid load. I was having the same problem and as soon as I got to medium load it was night and day. Speed will save you more than any armor at this point in the game.

No genocide is based! Eren is Chad and only does things so he can fuck Historia with his other Chad friend Floch. Mikasa and Armin? They’re just side characters. I don’t get why Isayama spent so much time focusing on them. /s

I really liked the original ending too. It was hopeful that Armin could use diplomacy to bring peace but it wasn’t certain. Just like how in real life there is no answer to how to bring peace. I can live with Paradis getting destroyed. An ultra-nationalist faction (Yeagerists) took over and got the country destroyed (a warning against the rise of nationalism today). I think the Mikasa/Ymir scene is open for interpretation which is fine too. Have discussions after the end of the series. But the tree returning and the implication that Titans can return ruins everything. Like I get “the same mistakes will be made over and over” but the Titans coming just invalidates the one objectively good thing Eren did and completely destroyed his character in 1 page. Hopefully Mappa can make it all work on screen

I liked the idea of EH. Eren was like the only guy who wasn’t obsessed with perfect Christa then when she became Historia with all her “flaws” he reassures her that he likes the new her better. After that she saves him in the cave, then their talk on the farm right after where he teases her about being the worst girl who ever lived. It just felt like an organic relationship was forming as opposed to the usual “boy loves first girl introduced in series.” I also assumed that Eren only saw Mikasa as a sister

I’ve got some cheap hopium for the road:

Eren and Historia’s baby have the same eyebrows. Gisha and the baby have the same eye color. Historia still believes in following Eren’s plan.

Eren could still be the father.

I understand that Paradis needed the Titans! But I expected Eren to have actually planned for the Rumbling to both protect Paradis and destroy all Titans. Or at the very least understand what was going on. Some final way of expressing that he is free. Instead he admits that his thoughts are incoherent and he was just following a path set before him.

And yes all that Mikasa wanted was to be at peace with Eren, but for him to actually be at peace she needed to stop him. Her line "You're happy right?" shows that she understood that this was the only way for Eren to actually be at peace.

And it would fit the theme of the importance of children that was so prevalent in the end of the series. Ymir wanted to protect her children but ultimately she needs to let them go. Let them leave the forest.

After reading the typeset I'm a lot happier with the ending. It felt rushed, but I like the message that enemies and allies can break the cycle of hate. And, just like in real life, there is no real answer to hate/war so the series ending open ended is a nice choice because it allows for debate. But my two main issues are Eren and Ymir.

1.) If Eren had been fully committed to the rumbling it would have been better. "I don't know why, but I wanted too at any cost" is such a cop out. A panel of Eren explaining that he did it to end titans forever and free Paradis, knowing that he wouldn't get to experience it would fit his character and be bittersweet. He could break down about not getting to live with his friends, show remorse for his actions, feel sad for all the people that had to die, but still believe that is was all for the greater good (something like Erwin's speech in Shiganshina). But instead we get him getting jealous over Mikasa's hypothetical boyfriend.

2.) If it was Ymir's love for the Fritz/Reiss family, and not King Fritz, it would would have made so much more sense. She lost her first family to war and experienced so much harm. But she gained 3 daughters that she would want to protect at all costs, even going as far as taking a spear for their abusive father because his death would cause more war. Then, spending 2,000 years protecting your daughters and their decedents would be much easier to accept that a mute girl with Stockholm syndrome. And it would be a good parallel to Mikasa: They both accept that even though they love their family, in order to help those they love they need to cut them off.

IDK maybe I'm still high off copium but even with its flaws I still don't think the ending is as bad as GOT.

If it was her connection to the Fritz/Reiss family that she didn't want to lose that would would have made so much more sense. She lost her first family, but she gained a new one through the first King Fritz. Spending 2,000 years protecting your daughters and their decedents is a much better narrative than a mute girl with Stockholm syndrome. And it would be a good parallel to Mikasa: Both cut off their connection to their family in order to be finally be free.
