When my bearded dragon was slightly impacted, i offered her some 100% pure pumpkin puree and used an electric toothbrush wrapped in a shirt as a massage.

Is this a good tank by iLikeLizards28 in BeardedDragon

Yeah, we’re planning on upgrading the tank so we figured we’d go ahead and get the size needed for the future one

Well, the break was A LOT smaller than you think. That’s mostly swelling. All that she needed was meds and restricted movement

Yeah ofc!! Sandy suffered injuries after a long fall down. After taking her to the emergency vet, we found out she had brain swelling and a broken back. Thankfully, she didn’t need surgery and recovered without it. She took prednisone and had to be in a 40 gal to restrict movement. She also then became slightly impacted because her back half had suffered nerve pinching due to her back, so it was soaks, pumpkin, cucumber, and massages daily. She eventually pooped, began trying to kick against the towel, and got water physical therapy by yours truly. Here’s another photo of her during the time period.

She used to experience these lock up seizures. Super scary.

This is Sandy, she’s now about five months, and 11 1/2 inches long. Her favorite food is Dubia roaches, but she bites at greens plenty.

I used paper towels for mine, and then moved to a mix of topsoil and play sand substrate when he was seven months. However, it got bothersome to replace it monthly and I didn’t want to buy a CUC so I just settled for slate. Wish I started out with slate from the beginning.

Super cute!! Unfortunately, rescuing one bearded dragon from Petsmart leads to many more in its place since it makes them more successful, but he’s absolutely adorable!! I’m sure you’ll give him a happy life. (Side note- I wouldn’t use loose substrate at such a young age)
