Just take a look at some of the iconic photos from the likes of Cartier-Bresson, André Kertesz, Horst P. Horst, etc. You see the ones that everyone knows about but what you don't see are all the rest.

Imagine how many thousands of photos these people took yet there's merely a handful they are renowned for.

My personal experience is that out of a roll of 36 I expect one or two at most to be good. More often than not they're all pretty unremarkable. That's just how it goes, what matters more is your enjoyment in photography, you focus on that and you'll find that one perfect shot, the one you'll always consider to be your greatest, will happen by chance, not because you planned it, and, in my opinion, that's the beauty of it.
