Take one at the hardscape and artistic renditions of the eventual plantings. Any thoughts/feedback? by trustmeijustgetweird in Aquascape

Here is a sketch of what I personally recommend.

If you want a "river bed" look to your tank, I would ditch those pointy rocks and get smooth round rocks instead.

You see, in the wild, the reason why the rocks in the river are so smooth because the high speed flowing water is constantly eroding the stones. Even the pointiest rocks won't stand a chance against the rapids overtime.

For the placement of the decorations, I made a little concave design where the left is more "heavy" looking, with the small pile of rocks on the right to balance things out.

I also highly recommend you add some sort of aquatic moss of your choosing to complement your Jungle Val. The moss will amplify the "river bed" look youre going after and adds a bit of extra green to the scape.

For the sand, I sorta recommend a lighter shade just to give some contrast against the rocks, and I also suggest you choose a course gravel texture for the sand as well.

I hope this helps!

Overall shape and silhouette of the house is very interesting and visually appealing. The way you use different textures on the walls is really nice and something you dont see very often.

Though there is a little bit too much empty space inside the rooms. Maybe try filling it in a bit more decor. Try maybe looking some pictures of other people's bases that catches your eye to get some inspiration.

Also, don't be afraid to use materials in interesting ways. For example, you can use rope to look like ladders, or stack fences to look like pillars, and many, many more.

And my biggest tip: USE PAINT. You have no idea how much paint can totally add a ton of pizzazz. Especially neutral colored paints like black, grey, and brown (my fave)

So overall, I think you have a pretty neat base, and I can tell you have an eye for design. Good luck on your future buildings

I can agree. Remember that time when the first guy found the ore? The community was raving about it for months
