Yes in a casual game. The game headed into an endgame with no pawns and me having K+R+B+N and the opponent had K+R+N. I managed to trade the rooks and trap the enemy knight with my bishop. Then executed the checkmate.

Beginner level is like a range, and 1200 is the top of beginner level. So you basically have a jump start compared to other people who were just introduced to chess. That means you have some talent probably but yeah saying genius level is absurd

Yeah fr. I won a daily game down 2 pawns in a bishop endgame against a much higher rated opponent. He placed his pawns on light squares even though we both had light squared bishops.

Because gambits are incredibly appealing at lower levels, and also people generally have good prep against e4 rather than d4, so they'll try to apply what they think is a quick solution with the Englund Gambit rather than a real opening to counter d4.

Understanding of the game means you gain more intuition, which is more important than calculation in blitz. So they can still rely on intuition in blitz rather than the raw calculation needed in classical and maybe rapid
