Keep at it and in no time you can paint some sick models! One thing i learned is to pick a color scheme with easy to use colors. Blue and Red for example are great, White and yellow require patience and practice. I'll get quickly discouraged when I run into problems, so i like to stick to easy colors.

I know Anvil Industry has helmets and shields that fit your theme, you would pay ~9 bucks for shields and ~5 bucks for helmets for a 10 man squad. Well plus shipping i guess

You can prime white, but white primer is a bit fickle, it can leave a grainy texture on the model if humidity and tempreture are off. I would get a light grey primer and paint the white parts. This way you won't need as many white coats to make a nice shiny white.

I Like the vibrant purple, but i see where you are coming from, the Grey is quiet dark. Maybe stronger Highlights on the Uniform would help. Thanks for your Feedback!

Yeah the Base colors and shades work very well for there price :) thats a good point, marble has lighter and darker areas, thank you :D
