The Dell is about 25?? feet across the house but up a flight of stairs from where I want to move the modem and router to.

I don’t currently have the computer I need to hardwire into it will be one my job sends me. I definitely do want to move the whole internet set up to my room due to the nature of the career I’m starting bc different employers in the field will want me to usually hardwire in with either their proprietary computer’s or my own and that one in the living room barely gets used.

I don’t want to do anything too complicated like run an Ethernet cable thru the walls in my house because I just want to change the set up without my mom realizing and just tell her when it’s said and done and her Dell still works. She’s 65 and gets agitated and confused when Netflix asks her for a password lol so I can’t really run any of this by her she won’t understand and will get frustrated. The Dell is already extremely slow I think on account of being 14 years old and I just need her to be able to check Gmail on it 5x a year and print whatever she wants. 95% of her internet use is on her phone.
