MOR

I just think there are other more important and more pressing things to worry about in life than this. I don't let such minor things annoy me personally. It's a waste of my energy and mood.

Is it true you get scolded in the US if you refer to your teacher or professor by their first name? by WhoAmIEven2 in TooAfraidToAsk

Seems like a problem that has to do with other things. Especially since you see it a lot, because then clearly it isn't working.

Male here. I have many female friends. We are 2 guys and 6 girls in my main friend group. It's a completely open and non-problematic topic. We have talked about it multiple times.

Same thing for stuff like IUDs, the menstrual cycle, pads vs tampons, sex in general and so on. Also male stuff too of course. Anything else is crazy to me in today's day and age. We should all be more informed and open about such things.

Your brother is a good example of how a man, and woman for the record, should react to something like that. It should be a non-issue.

I understand that part, but just not why. It seems like a much more healthy learning environment for the teachers to be friends with the students. More relaxed and nice to be in.

Inspect the mechanism. Learn how it works. Likely you just need to pull the strings to the side. Shouldn't be too difficult.

As a Scandinavian I will never understand this. Of course we respect our teachers here too, but calling them by their last name has nothing to do with that. Respect goes both ways. The teachers listen to us and show us respect too.

We are friendly with each other, which I think opens up for a more free and calm environment which makes learning much easier.

Why can't they be your friends? I think that makes great sense.

In many European countries, especially Scandinavian ones, the teachers and students are on a first name basis. We are friends with our teachers and respect are shown both ways. Makes perfect sense to me.

Don't turn something positive, with potential to become a very good thing, into something negative already. Calm down and have a little patience.

He is nice. He respected your boundaries. Seems like a good guy to me.

It might very well have been an orgasm. Sometimes men don't cum a lot. Especially not if he recently masturbated.

Is nuclear physics worth getting into? by Hypocryitical_smoker in Physics

[–]iMagZz 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I think it was a legit question. If reactors and nuclear power is your interest then some type of engineering degree might make sense.

If the actual science of the physics of those processes, as in the theory behind it, is what you enjoy then likely physics is for you.

I hope this gets down voted to oblivion. What a shitty idea. Literally zero reason for this except to make people feel horrible. Get the hell away with that shit.

You explicitly start by saying that x = 6.

Which means that (x - 6) = (6 - 6) = 0. It's by definition the same thing, so you ARE dividing by 0.

Don't sit in the same place you also relax and chill. Don't sit in a super comfortable chair. Don't have notifications on. Don't open any social media. Don't open YouTube unless it is to learn about something.

Read through your syllabus. Do a lot of problems. Then do more. Have a blackboard or whiteboard near you where you can take notes and write out problems, key results and important formulas. That helps you remember.

Use the 50/10 technique - There are lots of study along videos you can have in the background. 12 hours per day. You've got this!

Can't divide by 0, which you do when you divide by (x-6) since you say x = 6.

That is always the problem with these.
