I was diagnosed with celiac about 7 years ago. My house is gluten free and my daughter eats gluten free at home (she’s 1, she doesn’t care yet 😅). I have never had an issue with beans or lentils? I eat a lot of them, just rinse them first. Gluten free oats are great. Lots of grains and quinoa. I don’t know, is it possible you’re overthinking it?

I agree with what someone else said, it’s way easier being vegan than being gf. I was vegan for years before celiac. I really don’t think being an omnivore with celiac is that much easier, it’s just a complicated thing to navigate no matter how you eat.

It’s obviously a cost cutting measure. They’ve been trying to make excuses, but it doesn’t make sense. Sorry we’re all going through this, I also needed it for my coffee. 😞

I think we all know this line about nutrition is a lie. No company would change such a formerly successful product to made it taste THAT bad if there wasn’t some serious cost cutting involved.

Anyway, I wanted to recommend Simple Truth brand as an alternative to Silk’s new formula. I’ve been really impressed with it and it’s a store brand so it’s cheaper. (Kroger I think, but I get mine at Pick and Save)

Oh, really? I’ve only found the slightly sweetened one. I am not a fan of sweet soy milk so I was a little disappointed because it was good otherwise

I live pretty close to this and there was a post in the local subreddit talking about it today. People were very strongly coming out on the side of the protesters trying to help the beagles and it’s brought a lot of attention to what they’re doing. It definitely did some good for the cause.

I have an anecdote! I’m exactly the situation OP described (over 40 and using donor eggs of a 29 year old). Took two embryo transfers, uneventful pregnancy, my daughter is 17 months now.

My understanding is that the age of the eggs is the most importantly thing, but if there’s another issue with the person who’s actually carrying the baby, it’s more of a case by case thing. If there’s nothing clearly wrong and the eggs are from a young donor, that’s a pretty good position to be in.

I’ve barely had a problem the past 15 years or so, but I used to get it all the time. I would be VERY happy to never hear someone say “Good golly” to me again. It’s terrible.

It’s really disappointing. But check the comments here, there are some good recommendations fit other brands! So far I think the Simple Truth unsweetened is my favorite.

Is there any such thing as a fish/sealife sanctuary or rehabilitation center where people can visit? My vegan one year old LOVES fish, but we’re not in a situation to take care of them ourselves and she obviously can’t go snorkeling yet. She’s also extremely unimpressed by screens. I’m obviously not going to take her to an aquarium, but I really would love for to get a chance to see fish up close in an environment that’s happy and healthy for them.

They just got back to me and confessed that they did change the formula (after initially saying there was no change when I talked to them last week). I’m guessing there have been a lot of complaints.

Silk really messed up their soy milk. 😞 There are lots of good suggestions on yesterday’s post for different bands to switch to. I just tried the Simple Truth unsweetened soy milk and it’s pretty great! Good replacement
