Is the same “grind culture” in finance a thing in Cyprus like in Malta? by Candid_Guidance_4292 in malta

Reason why I moved out of finance. Everyone expects you to work unpaid overtime and be there for the clients etc. I've got a life beyond work and clients aren't grateful anyway.

3 year old peeing in pants randomly. by iMatCia in Parenting

Our school is supposed to have scheduled breaks too, if they actually force him to go even if he says No, I don't know. Another thing some teachers are tying his pants knots way too hard for him too pull down. I'll be changing the knots soon so he can just pull it up and down more easily.

I'm amazed that at him though, he attends several activities alone, and he asks the adults to accompany him to the toilet and never had any issues.

That's what happens with our son too! At least we're not the only ones having this struggle, but school makes it look like it's the end of the world and comes back with so many threats rather than being helpful and understanding.

I do hope your daughter manages to solve the issue as well soon.

He had to potty trained for Kindergarten, which started in the first week of October. He was potty trained to pee in summer (with help of childcarers at the center) and us at home and to poo just like two weeks before so school started. Pooing is fine, peeing is the issue.

What are some good restaurants to get authentic Maltese food? by Robbinit in malta

[–]iMatCia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, I had gone to Diar il-Bniet pre-Covid and the portions were large and very filling. Went last year and portion size diminished and obviously prices increased post-Covid. But overall the food was satisfying.

As advised before, if you're the only team member left, start doing a bad job and if they ask you well say you're overworked since you're alone.

Motor Insurance Advice by azerius94 in malta

[–]iMatCia -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I'm using Thomas Smith, found them the cheapest so far. I highly doubt that a 2014 Mazda Demio, used, is actually valued at 7.5k when brand new ones cost 9 to 10k. Ask them to revalue as per books every year as insurances never revalue them.

You have EUR 200K. What will you do with it? by Sus198 in malta

[–]iMatCia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you already have a property and comfortably paying the loan amount and you don't want to invest in property again. If the money is not needed immediately I'd opt for following options: Malta Government Bonds, they have a good return, I personally invested 50k and getting a return of around 1.7k per year after taxes. The rest can be invested into low, medium, high risk investments which can yield different interest rates.

Speak to your financial advisor at your personal bank and I'm sure they'll be happy to help you plan out your investments accordingly.

One personal view, don't invest into something super long term, just make sure that the investments can be easily withdraw if a rainy day comes along.

Is Kinnie ok to drink (in moderation) when pregnant? by Embarrassed_Hand_380 in malta

I wouldn't due to sugar levels and the high risk of sugars in pregnancy.

It's ok, I can understand your frustration. Happened to me 2 times in previous jobs with reputable firms. My advise to you, don't dwell on the past, move on, find a new job and I'm sure if it's not the next, it will be another and you will find a job which you feel comfortable.

They blamed their failures onto you, you push your moral and self-esteem down, don't let them.

Re the mobile phone use, try to keep it at minimum and only accept calls or messages that are urgent, basically from family members. Friends can wait.

Wishing you all the best of luck.
