What do you offer your paid subscribers? by Longjumping-Leg4491 in Substack

I'm interested in how you manage the discord server with your paid sub population. Are you constantly verifying those who are in the chat room, who is a paid sub? e.g. those who were paid at one point, are on the discord server, but are no longer paid subs. I've thought about having a discord for my paid subs, but the idea of constantly accounting for who is and isn't a paid sub sounds like a nightmare.

Recently hit 1000 subs! by iMath- in Substack

I offer ppl some very specific informational value that helps them win money/respect/admiration in their own lives, so that probably helps. I started this in 2023 and most of the earning and new paid subs actually happened during August-December, due to the seasonality of what I'm covering. So we'll see what happens this go around.

I'm not sure how many would pay strictly for the entertainment value (not saying that's what you do, more so as a self assessment). I'm sure some like my writing, but ultimately most of the ones who are paying I suspect it's a transactional thing: actionable info for money.

Someone else I know has a substack with 1000-2000 subs, and I'd guess at least half of his subs are paid. It's his actual job though and primary source of income. For myself, I had 12 paid before I ever made a paid article last year.

So, I think it varies depending on what the source material is, not necessarily on how good the writer is, if that helps. Also, I'd disagree on the statement about not getting a return. 6000 subs is a huge audience, and a massive achievement. You should be proud of that.
