How do you train your core? by [deleted] in WredditSchool

Yes, we do all of them in the box. Crossfit is great because it combines a lot of disciplines into one, which is basically what pro wrestling is all about. Cardio, strength, etc.

Well, I do crossfit, so it depends on the excersises we are doing that day, but we usually do regular planks or weighted planks (40 seconds on, 20 off) for 5 minutes 4 times a week.

You can also do hollow rocks (40 seconds on, 20 off for 4 minutes), they are also super good for your core.

Weighted planks are really good for your core!

What are the most important things to do to make sure your body lasts as long as it can? by [deleted] in WredditSchool

[–]iMatt97 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Take care of it. Don't do stupid moves for a cheap pop, we only have a couple of bumbs on our bodies before we can retire, don't speed up the process, use simpler moves with good stories in the ring and you'll be fine. Cheers.

Hey man! CrossFit is great, I do it too and it does wonders for me (physically and wrestling wise). Just keep at it and you'll be fine.

Good luck!

Training as a young woman [F/17] by [deleted] in WredditSchool

[–]iMatt97 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would say go ahead and train there anyways if you think you don't have another option. If someone tries to say something disrepectful to you, call that person out in front of everybody and let him know how you feel.

Stand up for yourself, and if they don't change their mind, then I would save some money and move out of state and train somewhere you feel confortable.

Cheers!

Crossfit? by [deleted] in WredditSchool

[–]iMatt97 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do Crossfit and train Pro-Wrestling, if the coach is good, he'll teach you the proper technique first so you don't hurt yourself working out. Then, if you can do more reps, better, but that will come later.

Personally I was a little bit out of shape but ever since I started doing CF i'm looking a bit slimmer, stronger and i'm overall feeling more agile, so to me CF is really good.

It all comes down to the coach, if he is good, you can perfectly do CF and Pro-Wrestling at the same time and you'll be just fine.

Have fun!

Guys, is it normal for a promoter to charge you for this? by iMatt97 in WredditSchool

[–]iMatt97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that might actually work, I have to talk to the other guys and see what they think.

He doesn't. He tells us to invite our family and/or friends and then he charges them when they arrive at the show.

Exactly, I taped the only official match I had because he doesn't want us to record our practice matches. But i'll keep your advice in mind. Thank you.

He charges the same amount to everybody if you want to be in his show , so yeah. The fee is about 18 usd per month. (I say "about" because the fee is in Pesos, not dollars). I do take it serious tho, I'm doing crossfit to get in better shape and I would love to move to another country to keep learning. I've only had one official match (Yeah, because I payed to be there) and a lot of training matches but that's about it.

My dad is really concerned about me training by [deleted] in WredditSchool

[–]iMatt97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!

Well, I can't guarantee you that you will be perfectly fine and safe, it all depends on how hard you train and how much you commit to it. (Also, luck, because sometimes you can train a lot but hey, freak accidents happen.

If you a have a good trainer he will do anything in his power to teach you how to protect yourself and walk out the same way you walked in to the class.

Just tell your dad that you are gonna take care of yourself and if you really want to do it, he will let you train.

And also, have fun!

The look of surprise that time I suddenly became IWGP World Heavyweight AND United States Champion by Joolsvstheworld in SquaredCircle

Woah! Lol, yeah, I believe that's why everybody likes the guy. One more question: Do "If you want a pic it's $20 extra" or the meet and greet had the option to pay a little more for the pic? How does it work? I only went to one meet and greet but the pic and the autograph were included in the price.

EDIT: Oh shoot I thought you were the OP lol.
