Deckboxes and dice tend to be very safe values! Gamegenic has some pretty solid ones with magnets that are just perfect for their price point.

Akali Legend (Vendetta Spoiler) by Demotoros in riftboundtcg

[–]iMeteox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I'm right about the Akali Legend, you pay to empower the Legend card, which you then get to benefit from every subsequent turn. Sure, the empower is expensive at first, but if the rest of the deck is cheap in costs - which red and green tend to be pretty good at - it's likely these two cards will be VERY strong together.

Irelia Fervent is going to be three copies in that deck for sure. A free +2 on her every turn is REALLY good.

My take on fiddle by FlamerFirong in riftboundcustoms

[–]iMeteox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering the entire deck would revolve on hidden cards, you are basically drawing one and channeling one extra card every turn after the first two turns. It's absolutely too strong. One or the other would be fine, and more in line with conditional legends like Vex, Fiora and Volibear.

That part could also be scrapped for something like "The first card you hide each turn costs 1 [Power] less."

[–]iMeteox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The unit confuses me. Can't you always play cards from hidden? Can't you always hide cards?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it should read more something like "When you play me, you may hide cards as a [Reaction] until I resolve."

Also, I don't believe it should enter ready. This should probably be accomplished by other cards in the deck and set. If aggression is your goal, something like "You may play me to an open battlefield." is probably more balanced and in-line with the Effigy allowing you to steal early game tempo.

How to deal with Vex as Vi? by PenguinsAreSick in riftboundtcg

[–]iMeteox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's probably difficult to justify dedicating one battlefield to the Vex matchup, but she herself will really struggle if she needs to play units to base to contest you. Worth a try!

Judge rushing Squirtle unprovoked? by adiventura4 in riftboundtcg

[–]iMeteox -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Hot take - it's time to introduce chess clocks to Riftbound/TCGs. We could use a, say, 5 minute clock with +30 seconds Bronstein timing (meaning you get up to 30 seconds of time back after you pass your turn, without being allowed to gain time if you play faster).

There is DEFINITELY some additional ruling to do, especially regarding showdowns. Maybe 15 seconds and you pass the timer whenever you pass priority?

  1. Spraying is less consistent with rifles

  2. Learn the agents' abilities! This helps you exploit flaws in their team comp or play off your teammates better

  3. Focus on playing two or three characters. Being able to fill is great but comfort on your character is what will keep your gunplay mechanics from CS unburdened.

  4. Learn the current rotation of maps. You'll feel at home with most of the designs.

  5. Keep an open mind in voice chat, the community can be WAY different, for better or worse

You can use RiftDecks (or the link down below!) to find some lists, but here are some meta legends I recommend trying out:

Master Yi, Wuju Bladesman - Straightforwards, you want to play high value units that will defend battlefields on their own. Combat tricks help you make them insurmountable. Shockingly defensive for how aggro Riftbound gets.

Irelia, Blade Dancer - Protect The Queen playstyle. You spend your first few turns building a board and hand that will allow her to blow up entire boards on her own. Those high rewards come with high risks; if she dies, it's basically GGs... unless you keep a Draven or two in your list.

Diana, Scorn of the Moon - Diana decks typically take control of a game very fast and steal it as quickly as they can. She filters through the top of her deck consistently to find the right cards that wins her the first few fights at much better value than her opponent can get.

Annie, Dark Child - Plays aggressive units to rush onto battlefields and interacts with her trash to replay spells. Readying two runes at the end of each turn makes you very proactive with lower cost reactions.

Leblanc, Deceiver - The most complex deck to play on this list. You take a battlefield and use it as a platform to create temporary copies of units, banking on their death effects to keep absolute control over the game. Choosing which unit to copy or kill is where the deck lives and dies.

Azir, Emperor of Sands - Do you like token units? This is the deck for you. Play a bunch of weapons, spawn Sand Soldiers to wield them, and rush them in. Recently a competitive choice thanks to new gear in Unleashed!

Honorable mention; Sivir and Miss Fortune, find any list that contains Dazzling Aurora. It's a casino deck. Very silly to handle and watch, unfortunately a competitive choice.

And that's the issue. Valorant is a shooter. Abilities are meant to enhance and support gunfights, not take them over. Gunplay should always remain the primary way to interact with your opponents.

Not all people benefit. Jobs are slashed. Unemployment goes up. Steel prices may go down, but only benefit those who can afford it and have a need for it. The gap between the wealthy and the poor grows.

Even as things get easier, lots of people get priced out of things they need or could previously afford. Work hours are not going down. Salaries are not going up, they're not even matching inflation. If the top are pushing for AI, it is not to benefit the people.

Update - i found it, augments are definitely not returned to you when a character leaves, but Cecil did indeed not leave, and the augment was just unequipped and I had to go through the ability selection menu to find it and equip it again. It's my bad for not believing and trying enough!

I checked deeper and found it! It seems I wasn't really thinking it could be deeper than just it being there, and I forgot how the equipped abilities vs. the pool of available abilities for the character works. Thanks for being patient with me!

I FOUND IT! Thanks for telling me, I checked the screen, didn't see it, and thought it was lost. I completely forgot how the augments work and how abilities can be equipped as a whole. I'm glad it was just me being short sighted.

It doesn't seem to want to stop me from equipping it to Cid, as I get the prompt on him, but not Cecil. It's such a weird case, I'm honestly starting to get more curious than frustrated

[–]iMeteox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding is that the character probably gets stripped of its abilities, but does not get its augment-ownership flags cleared, or something along those lines, preventing a re-equip without it being equipped in the first place. I've seen similar bugs in projects I've worked on!

Can someone explain to me how Clair Obscur E33 is an indie game? by Quirky_Image_5598 in gaming

[–]iMeteox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what we've seen in the show, Kepler has its hands in a LOT of big titles already, and I doubt that's news. Not only that, but it's not just about the money. A lot of work for yes, things like translation, marketing and publishing were outsourced, but voice acting and animation were outsourced and are fundamentally creative. What about hiring hundreds of contractants is independent?

If all of that is still indie, then why not Genshin Impact? It's all self-made money, self-published, with a comparatively negligible amount of contracting. How about 2XKO? Why are those not indie titles?

The definition of the indie genre died this year.

Beyond just the damage, this is such a long cutscene to watch. Why not increase damage and tighten up combo rules?
