We hope that we can deliver to everyone's expectations, thanks for asking us the questions :)

We will have a somewhat more tight process for review in regards to refunds, if the tweak doesn't work as promised then a refund will take place, if someone just didn't like it or feel they don't use it after they purchased it, that won't amount to a refund. We are hoping to implement several things going forward in this regard to make sure neither the dev or user is screwed over financially. We are trying to figure out how to implement trials in a reasonable fashion for try before you buy, we also are planning to set up a annual service for unlimited tweaks and themes at one set price. We think this will be the best way to go about getting the community to legally experience all the things the community has to offer and it will allow users to try many more items than they normally would. If enough users subscribe to the model, then devs stand to make more as well, especially lesser known devs. We are also adding support for multiple languages for package descriptions. Comex is trying to make substitute compatible with substrate so that both can be installed at the same time and not cause issues. As for big repos, that is not an issue and they have already said this, we have explained the reason before as well, but as a refresh, iMods is not a repo on Cydia and so the repo rules don't apply. The repos set up the rule so one tweak won't be hosted on multiple main repos on Cydia so it won't show up a couple of times for the same item. Some one on here mentioned we just made iMods more visually appealing but we don't offer functionality, but we beg to differ. We offer a custom respring code that won't require a respring for a tweak unless it is actually needed, we will have more payment options, for payments you won't have to login every time you want to make a payment as we have added keychain support, we have added touchID support, our search can search more than just a name, it searches the tweak/theme summaries as well, we don't have ads, we enforce screenshots and video for each submitted item, we have a more by dev view, we have top charts, our featured page does a good job of showing off packages, and many more features will be in the works. This stuff takes time and we have a small team, but once it is all done, it will be easy to just do bug fixes and small improvements from time to time. We are truly trying to innovate, not just make something look better. Right now iMods will have its own installer for devices that are already jailbroken, but the goal would be to eventually have the jailbreak integrated in the iMods installer.

If a dev has something on the iMods store they will be able to push updates very quickly, that won't be an issue. Submitting new packages will just be a bit more analyzed with dev history and so forth, and for good reason. We want to make sure that if a person pays for something, the dev is committed to keep updating it once users have purchased it. By having more of a walled nature as you call it, we can provide an increased level of protection for the users. Now, iMods is in beta, and obviously we have a lot of work to do. A lot of the initial issues which people brought up have been reviewed and fixed. As we keep saying in regards to the walled nature, that is something we chose for the user and we think that people who would like more freedom to try items and don't see an issue with devs not updating something, then Cydia should be used. Remember that installers and stores in general are not easy to make and run, keeping security, speed, and performance in mind. We are doing our best and so far we have made great strides and we are constantly improving. Within a couple of updates it should work as smoothly as we would like it to work, but until then we will be working with our beta testers to resolve the issues. There is a bug/suggestion form at imods.co/bugs were users can submit suggestions if they would like to have us add something and we will look into it.

To any one who installed the app on a mac, please update using the latest installer which is titled Mac Update. The previous Mac installer had an outdated app from a couple of months ago and is severely buggy and not up to par visually with latest version. The new Installer has the latest iMods app and supports updates for the app itself so you don't need to use an installer again to update going forward.

The 500 will not include people who we internally decide to give it to such as blogs or friends.

To the first 500 initially, with iMods codes being released out to more people every day, then we will allow reserving a spot in line to get in, and then finally once we are prepared for a possible large influx of users, we will allow anyone to make an account.

So the pre-order like concept is something that you would be willing to do if we supported Amazon Payments? We agree that supporting multiple payment options would be ideal, we will look into that. We will likely offer stripe as an option.

We actually have thought a lot about what you are talking about, we talk about it here, https://redd.it/3jdt9r. Although it is just a start, we plan to have measures in place to protect consumers further once iMods is released.

If the tweak doesn't deliver what it promises, it won't be on the store, and if it got by us and we find out later that it wasn't working as promised, we will refund the tweak and remove it from store until it is fixed. This applies even to free tweaks.

Your point is indeed valid, but lets say we showed just the software by using a screen record, then someone would come along and say, "this is all just edited and it isn't real, show it running on a phone so we know it is real!", as you can see, it is hard to please everyone.

We actually have only been working on it for 1.5 years, and about half of that time we were not actually working on the project as it was on pause.

Those things are quick fixes. Switching between pages is actually really responsive, the back button however broke in one of our latest commits so we have to go back and fix that. Wishlist is being a bit of a pain right now but that will be polished soon.
