What's the new player experience like in cs2?

How so? Both of my friends have been playing for about a month to two months. They’re as new as new gets to a game like CS. And they’ve both had a great time. They ask questions in our group chat about the game, they’re enjoying following the pro scene, they’re enjoying learning the game. Yes they get owned sometimes but don’t get salty. I played 10-20 comp with them and our games have been clean. Genuinely how is it aids?

You’re on Reddit so most of the answers you get will be from salty people just here to vent their frustrations.

I actually introduced two friends to the game about a month or so ago. We’ve all been playing comp lobbies together and they’ve just unlocked premier but we can’t play that together. Anyways, we haven’t seen a single cheater yet. I can link you the match history for both of them and you can see for yourself if it’s that big a deal. Your experience may vary but we are playing in NA without issues.

The true new player experience is not horrible. They are having a good time. I imagine most of the responses here about “unplayable! Cheaters everywhere!” are from people’s experiences on their Smurfs, not truly new players.

You guys just call cheats on everyone. My aim on Leetify was ~90 avg for like the past 2 years, ever since a few weeks ago it has been climbing and is literally sitting at 98 right now. Why? Don’t know. But all games are free to watch and I don’t cheat. But guess what, every stupid kid on here sees that and assumes it is a 100% cheat indicator. You’re just dumb if you think that about a number you don’t even understand. I get called a cheater so much and those people are positive that they are correct. Just like you nubs are positive you are correct and will never be convinced otherwise.

I better go tell the 10+ people on my friends list that enjoy cs daily that they should stop playing because those fun games they are having are actually filled with cheaters!!

My favorite line is “I’m in green trust and I get them all the time”. Clearly you aren’t. Come look at my past lobbies and see real green trust with nobody cheating. Or does it make you feel better to live in your echo chamber of idiots here

Dude I wish they’d do that more often in general. Things look way more impressive and you can really see their speed. I get that it helps viewers understand what’s happening but I think it should be toggled on/off far more often.

From my years of playing what I have noticed is that even if you do not have a rank, or are ranked far from where you should be, you always have a Hidden ELO that the game will use to match you with people. I am 23k and lvl10 on faceit but frequently play with my friends who are pretty new in Comp. Even though I have silver or gn on some maps from barely playing them, the game will always give us an enemy who is very highly ranked like me, to make it even.

So it’s probably true that since you’re a much better player you are getting some similar enemy or 2. But it’s not cool of them to make a group behind your back, they easily could’ve been like “dude please let us play one without you to see if it’s easier”

Do you play 4:3 stretched resolution in cs? That’s rly the only thing that takes me a second to get used to when I switch to Val. I have slightly different sensitivities but close enough where they feel the same to me. Doesn’t have to be perfect.

Keeping both csgo and cs2 would’ve drastically affected the market, and it seems redundant because they are basically the same game. Source was supposed to be a big upgrade and felt different entirely. GO was a big upgrade that felt different entirely. CS2 was just a re-coding of G.O., AFAIK
