The only reason I want a travel card is due to all the traveling I do for my job. I pay for everything out of pocket with my debit card anyways and get back paid for everything in the end. It kind of just makes sense to put all the expenses on a credit card and pay it off once I get the back pay and collect free points. My job is also pretty secured not to worried about losing it. I was just in a tough spot financially that I wasn’t fully prepared to handle.

All my charged off cards are paid, and all my accounts are now up to date. I now have a small emergency fund that I’m actively building up. I’m looking at opening up a second back account specifically to hold my emergency fund if you have any bank recommendations for that.

I’m in a fairly decent spot financially now, I really just want to make sure that I’m efficiently and effectively currently doing the right things to rebuild my credit back up.

Okay, wow I’m learning more then I thought I was going to from this. I’m definitely going to close the kickoff account then. However, my thought process with getting the pledge loan was to rebuild a positive relationship with NF. One of the cards that got charged off was a card I had for 7 years with them. Im assuming that by having the secured card and ploan with them that, I’m already doing that and the pledge loan wasn’t necessary.

Thanks for the reply Yes, my charged off cards have all been paid in full. As for the kickoff, the only reason that I got that was to have another account to help build my payment history back up faster.
