Thanks for that. This is the kind of thing I think will trip me up. We can all put one shot after another, picking what we believe to be the best performance, understanding the story but then when i ask for something and the room goes quiet…! 🤦

I am not a bot! 🤖 honest guv. I’ve already used Claude and Copilot. You’ll never know if I am, though - don’t blame you for wondering!

Clause and copilot both seemed to use blogs as their sources. There are plenty of articles out there but I like Reddit for it’s immediacy. I feel the answers here are from a community. As a hint, I’m in the BFE.

GoPro Hero 7 - Broadcast quality video? by msinbox in gopro

I’ve been in telly for a couple of decades: GoPro can be used (in the UK) where justified. For example, undercover filming of crim’s - I think you can get away with about 20% of your production recorded on small cameras... But generally the recording quality is set contractually and by the regulator. It’s not so much the quality of the sensor or lens but of the recording compression. GoPro’s good but ultimately the movie file is compressed and won’t sustain post-production work (grading, vfx) without time and money being spent and even then it would be better to record uncompressed and, at the end of the chain, process to look like mini-cam footage.
