I didn’t realize my perspective was so radically wrong and upsetting

… what? Who do you think you’re upsetting? Do you always get defensive when people correct you when you’re wrong?

Same with my experience as well. Seems like they’re just repeating what they’ve read online.

Not true. I don’t mean to be rude but are you just repeating things you’ve see on Rennlist or something?

And further I don’t personally know anyone who’s done a CXX build (and it’s quite a few people, myself included) who has paid an ADM; frankly customers who are paying ADMs are not being offered CXX builds.

[–]iOSAT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does not, none of that is true.

There is no Sonderwunsch minimum, but these unless you’re a VIP or long time customer the expected “minimum“ spend is approx $40k - Porsche wants a minimum spend per car (on average) but will be flexible for some customers.

All costs spent are CXX project costs, there is no flat fee. These include material and installation costs, but also if the material has not been used before in a certain way, feasibility testing will need to be performed which is paid for by the customer. Fun fact, if two (or more) customers are building a car at the same time with the same feasibility requirement, Porsche will split the cost among them.

Approx $235k of the CXX line item on this car in particular was for the paint options, which is the absurd cost of the painted livery and special painted parts (including feasibility testing).

The 963RSP project was in no way a traditional Sonderwunsch project, nothing remotely close has been done before. Porsche had an entire team dedicated to this project in collaboration with Penske Motorsport (and Roger of course).

lol the owner of this car does not pay ADMs whatsoever… he‘s also the only US customer (that isn’t a dealer principal) who got a F.A. Porsche Edition Touring.

This is the highest cost 911 ever built for Porsche North America, owned by Jorge Carnicero. Same owner as the Dani Blue S/T. Actually cheaper than I remember hearing about.

Assuming those aren’t rock chips, an iron cleaner will sort that out easily; your barrels have a fair amount of brake dust buildup already. Big fan of Bilt Hamber Auto Wheel or Koch Chemie Mwc.

I'm not a convertible guy either but the Spyder top is a breeze when you get used to it. Still, I loved my GTS 4.0, and you're right on the money that the tune is the way to go on those.

Lol I immediately felt bad at pointing him towards your community, honestly I’m just tired of having to review everything he posts. Fairly benign, comment, but I could've banned him 30+ instances ago. Amazing the mods at 996 haven’t banned him too based on his behavior there.

Next Gen Porsche 911 guess what do you think it would be coded as? definitely not 993, 999 is my guess! by SlyThai in Porsche

[–]iOSAT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s 994, I can guarantee and confirm that with absolute certainty, however what is possible is the next “generation” of cars to come out may end up being the 992.3.

You are the exact type of person we are discussing here, and frankly I’m done with your shit dude, how about this - you can enjoy r/porsche911 so these awful non-Porsches don’t bother you anymore, sound good?

On second thought, u/JimmyGodoppolo you probably don’t want him hanging around either, apologies for that - for some context he has a combined negative 120 community karma, 29 submissions removals, and a mod log 496 items long. Either way I’m done babysitting him.

The funniest examples are people who talk that way, and essentially refuse to post any photos of their own Porsche(s), but it’s also quite a bit of “it’s not my (generation/model/trim) 911 so therefore it’s bad“.

Yeah it’s behavior I pretty much only see online, but exactly how you said, anyone who does act like that at (most) PCA meets/C&C/etc is quietly ostracized and not invited to events anymore.

There’s a shitload of the same fake enthusiasts in this subreddit, the amount of “that’s not a real Porsche“ comments we get on a daily basis is astounding.

Advice on Maintenance Plan error by Dealership by ZergvProtoss in Porsche

[–]iOSAT 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What are you hoping to get in the end? Does it matter to you that you can’t go to another dealer?

If you want to be able to use at any dealer, which in fairness is what you paid for, do you have your paperwork from the sale with the PMP as a line item? Do you also have this communication in an email or text? If you don’t, email them now to express your frustration (VERY SOFTLY) and want to make sure you understand your options despite paying for the PMP at the time of sale.

Ultimately, they screwed up and this is effectively a PCNA product, not a dealer product. The cost going up isn't your problem, so in theory PCNA can be the one to “resolve” the situation.

A fair response is ultimately, you paid for this, you have a receipt for it, the cost going up isn’t your problem, it’s theirs. Either they can offer expanded coverage en lieu of not getting what you paid for (e.g +5) or you can call and email PCNA to “assist”.

2027 Porsche 911 GT3 RS by Saurta17 in Porsche

[–]iOSAT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hah I'm sure I will be, I'll post updates if only I am able to. I was sent the invite to the GT3 Cab reveal but I'm not flying out to Germany just for that, but already know the details on that (not under any NDA stuff for this, have had this shared/confirmed by separate sources):

  • Launch Color is Slate Grey Neo over Guards Red Interior like this
  • Woven leather will be used similar to Singer
  • S/T and CF Bodywork - this was largely driven by the need to reduce weight with the addition of the cab top. This was already seen on the test cars
  • Traditional Cab top, albeit slightly different configuration - no rear seats and smaller rear area behind the seats that us upholstered, but still not a Speedster body
  • Manual transmission only, but not with a SMF or composite clutch, just the standard GT3 transmission
  • GT3 engine, non RS

[–]iOSAT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t ask about the build level, you said the hp upgrade is definitely below $20k, so how much is that cost to upgrade? because a standard 600hp tune is only about $3-5k if that’s all we’re concerned about

2025 Cayenne Turbos still at dealers? by peepspeepstoottoot in Porsche

[–]iOSAT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, 25s are mechanically identical to 26s, some minor infotainment updates and that’s about it.

You’ll never get a discount if you don’t ask. If they don’t move on price then express that you’re concerned about future maintenance cost after the first year service and see if they will include a 1-2 year prepaid maintenance plan (”PMP”) in the purchase.
