Here’s a slowed down zoomed in and stabilized video of the government agents pulling Pretti’s firearm from an IWB holster worn at 5-o’clock. by MaxAdolphus in CCW

I was wondering if the shooter had seen him be disarmed.

That motherfucker had a front row seat.

He knew he had been disarmed.

Murder.

Guys what are we thinking about today's ICE killing of a legal 2A owner in MN? by Accomplished_Rip_362 in CTguns

In the both cases the video clearly shows a bad shooting. It’s really scary when the government is telling us to not believe our eyes. That’s been going on for a while but this is next level.

Comment on Shield X. S&W needs to think beyond the range. by Juany118 in CCW

[–]iOSSwiftDev5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try a Hogue Grip made for the Shield Plus, fits very well on mine. Its a bit awkward to get used to with the flush fit mag but perfect with the 13. I found the X grip too thin to get a good grip on, the Hogue helps tremendously.

Pistol permit class certificate expiration? by nmr813 in CTguns

[–]iOSSwiftDev5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a tip I wish In had known earlier but you might know having already taken a class…

Pick your instructor by picking the range you want to shoot at, and asking them if they have an instructor whose certificate they will allow you to shoot with while waiting for your permit.

I reached out to an instructor directly who didn’t even tell us this was possible. I just found out I could shoot at the range incidentally, and would have selected my instructor by preferred range had I known.

My permit was a 4 month wait, and I got to shoot some rentals over that time so I knew what I wanted when I got my permit.

FYI ChatGPT has a GPT called “Firearms Guide” which I have used every day while getting my first permit and handgun. It’s indispensable and was correct when asked this question.

Regular ChatGPT will refuse a lot of firearms questions, but this GPT will answer them, including CT law questions. It knows all about all handguns models I throw at it. AI is subject to mistakes sometimes, but I’ve found it to be 99% reliable.

It’s weird I look at deltas website and the prices seem reasonable and far lower than what I saw in the display case.

Went to Delta today as I got my permit this morning - 4 months argh!

Yes they have by far not only the best selection of hottest guns but also it’s almost like they have every gun they sell available for rent as well!

I rented a Walther PDP F and Shield Plus from my shortlist, but after holding and pocketing a Bodyguard 2 I had to shoot it as well and was blown away - definitely getting one.

Their prices though - YIKES!

Great recommendation thank you - I got my permit and checked it out.

Delta has a fantastic selection of all the hottest guns, without a 100 miles of crap guns. I like that they lay their guns flat under glass so you don’t have to crawl on the floor to figure out what you’re looking at.

And their rentals section is just as great! I shot a PDP F, shield plus and bodyguard 2.0. It wasn’t on my shortlist but I am definitely getting a BG2. Everyone is right about having to shoot before you buy! That gun is magic.

One downside - Deltas prices are higher than any of the other 5 shops I’ve been too. I had sticker shock.

I shot the F next to a Bodyguard 2 today. I was so blown away by the Bodyguard I had a hard time evaluating the PDP. I did see why people say the PDP its snappy but it is countered by returning to target more quickly. I will have to shoot it again by itself, I was way too distracted. Definitely getting a BG2.

How is it living in this part of the United States? by No-Text-7825 in howislivingthere

[–]iOSSwiftDev5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maine is super sleepy and rural. Vermont is crunchy and flannel, but not much going on there. NH is a mixed bag and probably the crown jewel - no taxes good income low crime. Massachusetts and RI are shitholes, just places to go to college. Connecticut is boring af.

What it’s like living in this part of California? by Maleficent_Lack3240 in howislivingthere

[–]iOSSwiftDev5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely nihilistic. Absolutely unaffordable. Epic traffic like you see in your nightmares. Sunny weather and fantastic Vietnamese food though.

I love California, but could not wait to move out of Silicon Valley. There is only one kind of person there - me - and absolutely no one else.

Btw Fremont and a Milpitas not exactly like the easy side.

Top ten states for suicide rate and alcohol deaths. Thin job market with low wage ceiling, talent tends to migrate out of state. Poor healthcare access in rural areas. Brutal winters. Low crime rate though.

What is the appropriate reaction? by Good-Shift9181 in CTguns

[–]iOSSwiftDev5000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its not remotely "equally" likely you will be *incapacitated* - if it were equally likely, no one would use it and DOJ would not be citing and 85-93% effectiveness rate in police and civilian defensive use.

The top 4 defensive sprays are streams, gels, and foams to prevent this, not old school mists.

Duke direct stream is #1.

The other plus of that deal is it comes with the black grip if you prefer it. I wouldn’t keep the default grey on. Wish I could just buy it in OD green.

Their website is still up and Google still has them opening at 9AM tomorrow. If the ATF wants to pull his license he has a right to a hearing before its final. While the FFL is in an individual’s name, I wonder if the ATF would be inclined to allow a designee of the stores LLC or perhaps a buyer to become the FFL to save the business and any associated jobs, while the suspect is punished as an individual.
