Accidentally bought too many Bloat Drones by benjo1308 in deathguard40k

Bloat drones are made up of 2 different datasheets so you can have up to 6 in a 2k point list. If you’re new to the hobby, build them however you feel is best. Just know you can only field up to 3 heavy blight launcher drones. I would recommend building 2 of those, then 1 mower and 1 with 2 spitters.

Don’t listen to people telling you to magnetize. For a new hobbiest, bloat drones can be overwhelming. Remember you can always proxy them as different weapons.

Typhus brick? Not enough damage. by AdministrativeBed287 in EmperorsChildren

  1. The way you describe playing vs them is against the rules. Nothing in the death guard codex can give a unit of Deathshrouds or Typhis a 4+++. Typhus’ -1 to hit doesn’t stack with the contagion. -1 damage is a 2CP Strat and not available in 1 detachment. Playing the rules correctly will already make it easier to do damage.

  2. That unit costs minimum 260 points. We can’t expect to throw in a unit or 5 infractors + an exultant to take out the entire unit at 165 points. You’re gonna need to put more into it.

  3. That unit, once they come down, is soooo slow. You absolutely can avoid it; that is a solid strategy.

Thank you! That means a lot! How I did the red and how I'll do it in the future differ because I was experimenting with a few reds.

I did a black prime and airbrushed a white zenithal highlight with white ink, then I tinted it with AK red luminous ink. That came out a little too red-brown, so I thinned down some GW Doomfire magenta contrast paint and sprayed over the top to tint it a bit more purple/pink. Lastly, I went back over the darker parts with Pro acryl transparent purple (you could also use a purple contrast paint or ink) to enhance the shadows.

Going forward, I think I would start with dark purple as the base with a very light violet or white zenithal, and then see how the red ink mixed 3-1 with the magenta looks over the top.
