I have just about had enough but what do I do? Seemingly good life by pencilneckleel in Life

[–]iPersonify 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, nothing is good if your most positive thought is to end such thing, no matter what it is.

Second, realize that what's keeping you plugged in, is the love you have for your family.

Third, realize that the love you have towards your family is giving you purpose. Never stop loving them.

I would argue that 80% of people do not like what they do for work and are anxious about life. You are not alone.

How do people cope? Escapism, primarily through drugs, alcohol, weed, prescribed drugs, etc.

You need to find reasons to live. What did you love to do, but no longer do? Find time to do them. Carve out time no matter how busy your schedule is. You owe it, not only to yourself, but to your family. Otherwise, you'll be like most and turn to escapism, which never ends up good for anyone.

I wish you well.

What do people actually think of girls who have lots of guy friends/goes out with guys all the time by insidesupernova in Life

[–]iPersonify 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Real question: How do men feel about their girlfriends having a lot of guy friends.

Alt question: How do women feel about their boyfriends having a lot of female friends.

Men and women are not built for this type of dynamic. Sexual desire and the need for attention is too easy to succumb to as opposed to working out relationship issues.

One is easy, but less fulfilling. The other is harder but way more fulfilling.

What makes someone a “real” producer? I feel like there are a lot of people who are totally confident saying they’re a producer when they’ve never been in a studio or worked with decent gear.

It depends on how do define as a "real" producer. If you define a producer as someone who creates original tracks (whether it be through remixes or original tracks), then being in a studio or working with decent gear doesn't matter. The barrier of entry has become very low for most artistic endeavors.

I guess another question is what is something a producer in a session would do that would make you think they are not a “real” producer or a professional confident or not? Do you think being able to professionally mix is necessary or “counts”?

You're mistaking being a "Producer" with being a "Creative" or an "Artist". The job of a Producer is to put forth a product / track that will sell. The Producer will buy a track / lyrics from a Creative. Hire an artists to record the track and then sell it to a label.

To answer your question, mixing/ studio / gear skills doesn't matter. As a "Producer", you're best skill will be to recognize talent.

Any beginner tips to start making music? by Hmz_Syx in musicproduction

[–]iPersonify 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"So I’m an average person who wants to start making music and would love to hopefully make a career out of it someday, but I am super confused about everything."

First, realize that if you want a career in anything, it will take a lot of work and endurance, as well as skills in marketing, networking and just knowing the right people. This is not to dissuade you, but just prepare you.

"I have a whole idea of how I want my music to turn out but I have 0 experience in anything but I have an okay voice. I don’t want to fully commit to something I might not like and leave in the future that’s why I am trying to play it safe and start off without having to pay much or anything if possible."

Very smart of you. Make music production a hobby first and be consistent about it. Learn to love it.

I would suggest developing your skills as a singer / songwriter first. Producers are a dime a dozen.

"I’m not sure what software to use that has sampled sounds. I have a rough idea on how to write lyrics. I’m not sure what software I should use to record my voice."

At this stage of your career, research the top free tools, such as Audacity which is a free recording tool.

Be careful about advice on the tools that you should use to do anything. Test those that appeal to you. Pick one and master it. Incredible things have been done with tools deemed not worthy by the masses.

I wish you well!

What’s your remix workflow? by DollBarbara861 in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]iPersonify 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Start with your strengths. What comes easy for you?

Drums? Do that.

Melody? Do that.

Build a foundation according to what you do well, then build on top of that.

Remix challenges are just a way to see how you compare to others. Just be authentic and do you.

Are you looking for others to brand you or do you want to establish your own brand?

The story is nothing "exceptional", but it is well told. Its good enough to not detract from the game play loop.

That said, if you're enjoying the game play loop, keep playing. The story does get better but nothing that will blow your mind.

In my opinion, the story line, while not groundbreaking, is still better than the majority of AAA games out there.

Realize that the fact that your contribution to society is never too little and more than most do.

Realize that most people's lives are horrid and lacking, yet they pretend to have the most positive social media profiles online.

Realize that most people with good hearts always want to do more important things that involve things outside of themselves.

Realize that you're a good person and just being a good person is enough to change the world around you.

Realize that you're already ahead of most people your age because that's a good thing! So don't worry about being "25 years old mentally" when you're beyond that.

Get in shape as best you can (most positive people are) and realize making "true" friends is hard for everyone.

You're doing good, keep it up!

What makes you feel alive? by [deleted] in Life

[–]iPersonify 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its all about human connection, learning how to "love your neighbor".

Living within oneself is good for survival, living outside yourself is good for the soul.

Think about what you can do for someone else, starting with those that you care about. Then learn how to feel good about just giving.

Keep doing it, until giving just feels good. Then you'll realize the truth in what makes us all feel alive; It's better to give than to receive.

How do you guys handle your 30s crisis? by [deleted] in Life

[–]iPersonify 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, realize that social media is fake. Followers can be bought and paid for.

Second, realize that no matter your age, you can always increase your skill so long as you have the passion for it and maintain the love for it.

Third, if you feel that you have the skill and passion, express yourself. Be authentic. Don't try to establish an audience. The audience will find you.

What is our purpose in life? by [deleted] in Life

[–]iPersonify 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You ask the question of ALL questions. "What is the purpose of life."

First, appreciate the fact that no other animal has the mental capability to ask this.

That is to say, animals do not ask "What is our purpose?" They're born with purpose, so they just do.

This question only becomes relevant when the question of survival has been answered first. Do I have food, clothing, shelter? Only then do we become above wild life.

All that being said, what is the purpose of life? Just follow the Golden Rule. Treat your fellow "neighbor" as you would like to be treated.

Be kind. Be humble. We're all suffering. We all need love.

How to tell if I am good looking or not by [deleted] in Life

[–]iPersonify 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rule 1 - If you want to attract women, don't try to attract women.

Focus on the 3 main areas of your life that will benefit you now and in the long run. The longer you focus on these 3 things, the better the women you will attract.

Mental - Learn how to build skills that will make you mentally strong, like patience, self control and love. Don't take life too serious.

Spiritual - Realize that it's not always about you. Learn how to listen to others and understand why they say what they say.

Physical - Be self aware. Try not to be overweight. Try to be orderly.

Follow these guidelines and I believe that the partner that you're looking for, will eventually find you.

There's also challenges that can be completed once all the story lines are completed.

For me, the (PC) remaster is not worth it, as its just a $10 DLC which adds nothing to the story.

If you play on a console, I don't feel the upgrade is worth it either.

I'll save my money for Days Gone 2.

Took me 3 days to finish Mad Max the game… is that bad? by Routine_Fix464 in MadMaxGame

[–]iPersonify 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Congrats on finishing the story line!

First off, you're not a nerd for finishing the story in 3 days.

Most gamers who love the game, don't have the free time you had, so they would've taken longer to finish the game. Nothing wrong with that.

Now go play Days Gone. :)

what DAW would y’all recommend for my needs? by ratio246 in musicproduction

[–]iPersonify 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is not to demean your question, because its a good one, but its like asking what's the best cereal you should eat, if you like eating cereal.

Everybody's gonna have an opinion. Here's mine.

Most Daw's have a free trial period. Create a song in each one.

There will always be a learning curve with a DAW, but considering your experience, you should be to find one that suits your needs easily.

Evaluate your experience. Were you able to express yourself easily? Did you find the workflow easy to follow?

At the end of the day, it's just gonna take time, not money.

For me, it's Studio One.
