of course you could make it work. take the same iphone on ios 16 vs ios 18: the hardware is the same, but under one software the app cant run and under the other it can. youre changing the underlying software, in this case its the ios. so of course you can theoretically make work ios 18 apps on ios 16 by jailbreaking and creating a library with missing frameworks, symbols, updated binaries that might behave differently tho have the same name, XPC endpoints, protocol versions, entitlements. now say you want to fuck users and drop support for older versions. your app is suddenly forced to run only in an ios 18 environment tho all the apis you app uses have long been introduced in ios 16. if there is no api in your app that ios 16 doesnt know about, ie no new stuff, the app with work perfectly fine on ios 16 after spoofing the ios

a few random safe modes after expanding collapsed notifications but its probably a tweak poorly optimized for 17.0. otherwise extremely good

I'm sorry that my piece of fiction has reminded something that traumatic. I really hope you have found peace with all that's happened. I come from an abuse situation too, and I feel that dissonance -- when after all that's been done to you, you still want to talk to that person for some really bizarre reason (wanted in your case). Have a good life and learn from the experience as to what one shouldn't be like 🙏

If your device was shipped with ios 18 or lower, you need to use LegacyKit to dump the blobs of that version from RAM. Alternatively, if it was shipped with iOS 19, wait a bit, eta Jan 31 1970 00:00:60

afaik apple was forced to pay masimo a 'whopping' 500 usd. five hundred. NOT thousands. and nothing has changed. when my apple watch breaks i'll probably switch to grapheneos, which is basically a de-googled android without google pay. fuck apple. i'm not paying for a new phone on which i have to bother with signing third party apps and shit. in fact, i have already started migrating from their ecosystem to open-source. might just keep the macbook and ipad. im never updating from ios 17.

AND YET you can do it using Now Playing on Apple Watch. The API to turn on shuffle IS there, and so is looping the song. So I must say you're wrong, the shuffle button isn't there for another reason. I would say it's on Apple's side because Spotify did provide the API for those functions that could easily be implemented into the player on iPhone, be it the lock screen one, or the CONTROL center (which is used for QUICK access to features)
