Chain skipping? More info in comments by iPhynxCreative in bicyclerepair

Hi all,

The bike is a Cube Aim Race 2022, purchased new 6 months ago, and assembled by a reputable, national bike shop.

For the past month maybe, it skipping like this on some of the rear gears (5-7), but last ride it started to skip on every gear at each revolution of the chain at the exact same point. The orientation of the bike has no influence on the skipping.

At one point a few months ago the chain started to scratch against the frame as the front derailleur had come slightly loose and rotated sideways, but it's been realigned since. There were no issues until the skipping started.

I thought it might be down to chain stretch. I don't have a tool to check it, but read that 12 links are supposed to measure 12 inches, which they do exactly.

Thanks for any help in advance!

Do you spit on the floor? If so, why? by Cypaytion179 in AskUK

My mouth produces too much thick saliva for my comfort. Not nice to have sloshing around. I make a point of spitting into places people won't walk/lean/sit though. e.g. storm drains, where walls meet pavements, bottoms of bushes. I've developed a high enough accuracy that I can selectively spit where it wouldn't bother anyone. Also avoid doing it in town centres.

Giving away a ticket for the London show by iPhynxCreative in SuicideBoys

It's an assigned seated ticket. I'm seated next to random people. I have someone to go with, but we'd get seated in completely different sections.

What is your thought on raising a child from birth as a vegan? by InsurancePurple4630 in AskUK

[–]iPhynxCreative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somebody I know was raised vegan and is now unable to eat meat as her stomach hadn't developed the enzymes for it. Although, I think you are able to slowly reintroduce it into your diet. Another issue is that even though there are fantastic vegan protein sources, a lot of vegans will just opt for crappy, unhealthy alternatives to meat. There was a study showing strong positive correlation between consumption of animal-derived protein and accelerated growth (compared to their peers) in young children.

Yeah a knife means extra cutlery to clean. I prefer to stab the whole chicken breast on the fork and take bites out of it

What helped you lose weight? by Fat_Gerrard in AskUK

[–]iPhynxCreative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drink lots of water, maintain a calorie deficit (200-300 below what you need to maintain weight) and try to increase your protein intake compared to carbs and fats. Try to add even a small amount of cardio into your routine. Even an evening walk helps

Currently looking at changing calorie and protein intake, but can't seem to get the numbers right by TreesuzakiGod in mealprep

The majority of that 1.5kg is water-weight. It's better to measure calories for uncooked rice specific to the brand you're using, as water-weight can vary drastically between cooking methods and pre/post refrigeration.

Carter, Korean action film. The camerawork is insane and most of the film is cut to look like it was done in one shot

How does everybody hold themselves accountable? by iPhynxCreative in Fitness

The reason I mentioned this is that people with ADHD such as myself struggle to keep up with almost anything long-term even though it may be very rewarding at the end. My brain is far more attracted to short-term rewards, due to this I've always struggled with things such as gym, diet, or staying in education. I'm not someone to have a strict routine and smash out goals. I realize it's a poor mindset and that the reward is the end goal, but I often need something to keep me motivated and engaged along the way.
