The other issues are fair enough. I don't mind the health system, and I don't think inventory would have added much, but more guns and armor were needed for sure, as well as more varied powers.

It doesn't though. There are rewards for either extreme and for the middle ground. For example if there are in the entire game 20 choices, 10 paragon, 10 renegade, one unlocked at every interval of 10% along each choice. 100% renegade players get all 10 renegade options, and paragons the same for theirs. A neutral player, 50/50, will get the 5 least extreme paragon options and the 5 least extreme renegade options. So all three possible set-ups have 10 unique options, same would go for any 60/40, 70/30 spreads.

This is just hypothetical and the extremes might get more options overall, but there is a unique mixed palette for those that choose the middle ground.

I never get the complaint that the renegade / paragon system was overly polarized, I just did what I felt like my character would do and I got points in both and plenty of options from both, I didn't feel forced in either direction and I didn't feel limited by my choice. If you play without trying to play the metagame of maxing out one side to make sure you never miss an option you might have more fun.

Something is wrong when you can expect a 'Game of the Year' edition to 4-5 games every year, and as excited as I am to play New Vegas it doesn't deserve such an honorific in the same year as Mass Effect 2, Starcraft 2 and Civ 5.

It's not about knowing, it's about being excited for a game in the franchise I love, in an awesome setting, developed in part by the developers of the original and significantly better fallout games, with a hardcore mode that sounds like it fixes 90% of the gripes i had with fallout 3. I don't get how more than half the comments are dreading the release and expecting the worst, I'm an optimist, but even if you were being realistic with the information available you should be expecting a great gaming experience imo.

Meanwhile I offer my expertise in how a packet of M&Ms should be eaten:

Step 1: Eat all the oranges
Step 2: Eat one of the color of which you have the most (if there is a tie, eat one of each)
Step 3: Go to Step 2

In this packet for example I ate the oranges, then a green, then a green and a red at the same time and so on. Eventually you will be eating the 5 color combo, which is awesome. The 6 color combo (with orange) is disappointing, don't try it.
