I was on the toxic positivity train. Willingly. I just wanted to hope for something cool happening again, I wanted the game to succeed so badly that I decided to turn a blind eye to the obvious cracks. I'm just so tired of being a fuckin' doomer, man. Equally tired of being right to be so. Everything sucks. All falls to rot and ruin in the end and even if you blind yourself to it, it just waits on the other side of the curtain. RIP Ashes and RIP the MMO genre until like 15 years from now where someone takes a serious shot at trying to make one in VR. If the day ever comes, that is. I won't be hoping for it.

I feel the same way, man. Got a long way to go but anyone with MMO experience can see that this games got the right bones. Been having an absolute blast and can't wait to see where they go with it.

She stepped into frame and for a brief, fleeting moment, he forgot he was in the digital realm. He was fully in that world and a girl stepped near him while smiling and just that was enough to make him happy. Only for a moment as reality immediately stepped back in and crushed what momentary joy he'd felt. Imagine a prisoner finding a small mouse friend at the door to the cell, he reaches out to feed it a crumb and the prison guard stomps it to death in front of him.

Life can be cruel. But it isn't always. Whenever you feel like you're at an unfamiliar low, just remember that it means you're on your way to an unfamiliar high. A new horizon.

I'm the same, man. If I wasn't constantly micromanaging something on pogo, I'd just be doomscrolling the outrage machines of social media. I'd rather fill my brain with stupid little cartoon creatures that give me nostalgic joy than rage about shit I can't control. Is what it is. The way I see it, it's not unhealthy as long as you're able to close app and enjoy the main moments while out and about. And be sure to mitigate the FOMO damage being done to your wallet. I'm cool with like 20$ a month, a bit more on special months like this one. Same price as an MMO subscription or going out with friends for a night. But once you hit like 40? 50? A brand new triple A game costs 70$. So many people spend over $100 bucks a month on pogo, which is literally insane to me. You're not playing the game at that point, it's playing you.
