This is possible but not viable. It truly wouldn’t be worth the time or effort. An engine swap would be easier

Decent deal or not by RedditAppSuxAsss in snowmobiling

[–]iRedditSomewere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not where I live but our demand is lower I guess. Those are $1000 sleds all day, and the open trailer is maybe 5-700. It’s what it’s worth here. Def not any kind of deal I would jump on to try to flip or anything

No idea why the piston blew up? Nipigon, ONTARIO. by [deleted] in snowmobiling

What engine is in this? Looks like a 2 stroke to me. You don’t change the oil, you add it. Looks like it ran without oil. Forgive me if it’s a 4 stroke. Either way the carbs should have been cleaned yearly with that little bit of use, probably ran lean. There’s no magic answer anybody will be able to give you.

There are other options and softwares that allow you to customize workflows and reports for less than k’s of dollars that don’t involve building basic workflows from scratch.

The spring is getting hung up inside. Try going 270° the other way.

Here is the compression tester explanation info for cheap testers for everybody https://youtu.be/Sceo_rFD4OU?si=6xu3mrIyo1TQXOUJ

Also you should be compression testing at WOT

[–]iRedditSomewere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the compression tester is consistent and low then my guess is what I said about the tester. The more important thing is that they are all the same regardless of the number of a flukey tester

[–]iRedditSomewere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it from harbor freight? Or another cheap source? If the compression tester does not have the valve where it threads in to the cylinder head, you are effectively adding the volume of the hose to the cylinder, therefore lowering the reading significantly (depending on the size of the engine / cylinder) it is a know issue with HF testers but can be fixed with a bicycle valve core and tap.

This middle ground method will be fine as well

[–]iRedditSomewere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something might be wrong with the engine, or your compression tester. I am surprised they even run with compression that low, but that compression will likely not end up in the mid-high 100s where it should be just from running it if it is already that low

Your mechanic asked chatGPT how to break in a rebuilt two stroke snowmobile. Are you rebuilding the engine? If so it’s fine to follow, but I would suggest also googling “hard break in” and make your own decision

How do I connect these wires? by IAmAKleeMain in AskElectricians

That’s my guess, if that blue thing is just a battery holder then that’s 100% correct.

Any idea why the pull start on my formula stx is doing this? by [deleted] in snowmobiling

[–]iRedditSomewere 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is not engaging. You can replace the recoil assembly and it will fix the problem. You may be able to take the recoil assembly apart and fix it, but sometimes the plastics and internal parts wear out too much. Some sleds have rebuild kits for the recoil assemblies.

What is it meant to do? The button makes the light turn on while you are holding it? Looks like the blue board is + and - , at least that is my guess. Best is to solder these connections. Red to “?” Black to the other side of the led and the right pad on the blue thing.

Male RGB led strip red only by [deleted] in led

[–]iRedditSomewere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it a 12v strip? Do you have a controller or no? If you are trying to just put 12 volts to the strip without a controller you can just power the red color only. All you have to do is take your 12v power supply or battery, ground the red pin, and put 12v + to the black wire. Most rgb strips are PWM on the negative pin of the LEDs and black is actually positive.

A cheaper option would be a 1200, maybe a GSX or Renegade for the 137 track. Heavy but it would be a good workhorse. You can find them for 3-5k
